PC! DO NOT GET THE PS2 VERSION! It's not even worth of the name! It should be called Ake of Expires or some cheap name like that! PC all the way.
PS2 or PC?

Well, I first got AoE 2 and then I went on to get the expansion for that and finally I got AoE 1, which after playing AoE 2 seemed utter crap to me. The difference is there are new civilizations, 13 overall, new units and technologies which re-enforce the strategy element, especially in battle. In the campaign mode there are heros and you follow their story, all of them are true stories. There is also multiplayer, where up to 8 players can play at once. It's better than AoE in every way to be honest...you should get it ^_^
One proviso about your description, don't mention graphics. Graphics have no bearing on potential purchases to me. :)

Nah I own it. AoE 1 sucks compared to AoE 2.
Well done Jetster :D
