Now, I am not sure which is more powerful, but does it really matter that much. If anything, the consoles are that much different in power capabilities.
The only thing that really matters is the games, and how developers exploit that power to the fullest. I mean, both the PS2 and the Gamecube are powerful consoles, so really, it's the games that are what make the console, and not how powerful it is.
