Well ninja-pirates are the correct ones, only Machie's a stupid Prinny and so has gone off to get his pirate-ninja self killed.

Dibs on his stuff

I'd rather be a Ninja-Pirate, i think it would be easier. You could quietly swing around on your ship, waving your sword in the air. Now on the other hand, i suspect it would be difficult to be a sucessful Ninja if you were wearing a big pirate hat with feathers.

Ninja-pirate = Awesomeness
Pirate-Ninja = A good way to get yourself killed

We'll go treasure hunting when we visit Ladybird in Oregon. I'm suggesting we start in Astoria. I've heard legends of a One Eyed Willy. There's bound to be lots of treasure there.

If we ever have a cosplay meetup, I'll go as a Pirate-Ninja.

No, no treasure hunt! If you want to come dressed as a pirate though you're very welcome. I'm gonna bring my camera.
On the subject of pirate costumes, i was walking around town last year and saw an awesome one. Such a shame it was for a 8 year old because i so would have worn it around town.
