Lets all say nice things instead. I'll start.

The GAMECUBE games are looking fantastic! Trouble is going to be eliminating the games from the release list that I don't want!

And the fact remains that the Tokyo Game Show hasn't even been yet, in which third parties usually announce their releases for the coming year, and preview all sorts of upcoming treats.

So just from the 1st and 2nd party release schedule I can see many, many hours of happy gaming before me in it's first year, in a multitude of genres too!

Luigis Mansion will give me something a little bit 3D adventure-esque - though it's viewpoint is rather unique, also utilizing a first person view with Luigi's 'Game Boy Horror'. Catching the ghosts looks fun, and the light effects are quite stunning as he shines his torch. Can't wait.

Pikmin gives me a bit of a strategy game, something Nintendo haven't really dabbled with in the past, and this looks fun, with plenty of enemies to overcome, as well as other obstacles. With the ability to control over 100 pikmin at once it may be a little tough to keep up with all of my different strategies! Should be fun!

Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader looks to be the ultimate Star Wars shooter, being based around the first three movies. Graphically one of the most stunning titles, and in sound too it's very impressive with the score from the movie recreated to perfection. It looks fast and frantic, that trench run will be fun!

Star Fox Adventures gives you a taste of Zelda-esque adventure, it's looking stunning, and hopefully will provide a sizeable quest to keep my enthralled for many, many hours.

Super Monkey Ball could be described as a puzzle game, and this looks intersting enough, but it's the mini-games and multiplayer that's got me interested. Racing, billiards, bowling, and many others should make this a great game to get out with your mates.

And on that subject Super Smash Bros: Melee will allow you to exercise your aggression in a beat em up featuring over 20 of Nintendo's mascot characters.

Wave Race gives you racing fans a number of gorgeous tracks to race around, with water features so good you'll have to keep a towel handy! It's looking really fast too, and there are plenty of tricks to master.

For those less serious about racing, Donkey Kong Racing will appear at some point. Apparently training your animals will be a major point of the game, but how this will be incorporated, I don't know.

All this too 'childish' for you. Then try Eternal Darkness. A horror game like none before it, a quest spannign many centuries, with many different playable characters, and a unique 'sanity' system. You don't just have to look after your body, but your mind too. The game also features a rather fun looking targetting system, with which you can chop/shoot off a zombies arms, or its head, or it's stomach - whatever takes your fancy.

I'm sure I've missed some out, but that just goes to show how many games I'm looking forward to, without even mentioning Sega's offerings, EA sports games, and other third parties.

Anyway, I was going to say nice things about all consoles.

The Playstation has many, many racing games, for those that like to race. And they're good too, apparently. Plus there are some decent horror type games, like Devil May Cry. Final Fantasy is bound to have a few fans, lets just hope it's not too darn story driven, you need some choice over what you do! And you're all waiting for Metal Gear Solid 2. That should be a corker.

But in general it's not the machine for me.

Okay, the Xbox.

Um, it has a fitted plug. ;-)

No, I'm sure there will be plenty of games that will appeal to plenty of people that aren't me!

Something gives it away that Meka's a Ninty.... perhaps it's the fact that he rants and raves about Nintendo 24/7. At least you have nice things to say about all the consoles, unlike some certain people who shall remain nameless for the sake of another FOG war. :)

To any Ninty out there who is clued up on this topic, has anyone heard anything about the Final Fantasy being released on the Gamecube? I heard that the plans had fallen through but I want to make this clear in my mind before I rush out and get a Gamecube and a PS2
