so! anyone else had some of their channels taken away??

no more star trek, simpsons or futurama by crikey!

it`s all a bit crap, but the message put up by Virgin when you tune in to where the channels used to be is pretty cool:

"...they`ve picked up their ball and gone home"

nice to know multi-billion pound corporations aren`t above some playground whining :D

Sky simply don't get it sometimes though and get their demands wrong, reminds me of when they insisted the (criticised for too many repeats) BBC had to show 24 three times a week.

It was never going to happen.

the news said about 3.5 million customers lost some of their sky channels, so not everyone is affected.

I have cable and i don't have sky channels. I only watch sky one, but we'll see what happens later on. We might switch to sky if i can have 999 channels of entertainment from all over the world.

i don`t know what the problem is, but i think it`s a bit much to charge customers for a service that`s increasingly less. We`ve lost some channels, you pretty much HAVE to buy an extra package to get any channels worth watching and more and more stuff is going onto pay-per-view, but yet we continue to foot the bill.

i`m considering having my cable service cut off.. at which point they`ll probably decide i need to buy a new package so i pay more for phone/internet.

another fine lose/lose situation for the british consumer.

Do you think it might have something to do with Sky buying a big chunk of ITV?

heh that's funny, I've been reading about this but Im a customer of neither.

Is it Sky wanting more money then? I guess with no deal they have even less money and a few 100,000 less viewers right?

It was brave, but not unsurprising given the history between Branson and Sky/Murdoch.

But then it's only those people who have cable near their homes that can get Virgin TV anyway...
