no more star trek, simpsons or futurama by crikey!
it`s all a bit crap, but the message put up by Virgin when you tune in to where the channels used to be is pretty cool:
"...they`ve picked up their ball and gone home"
nice to know multi-billion pound corporations aren`t above some playground whining :D
Is there any hidden costs? Especially for the bt line and broadband.
The Sky channel on basic Freeview is Sky Three, which used to be SkyTravel. It's still about 60% travel based, but it does air things like Futurama and Brainiac reasonably often.
You have to pay to receive Sky One right? So why would you expect Sky One's programs to be on freeview just a day later?
It still begs the question why we haven't got it. I mean technically that channel is free (I'm not sure of this, but typically freeview channels). Sky has that channel as well.

Because a lot of it is stuff that was one Sky One the previous day but shown an hour earlier.

Fox and Sky are basically the same as they're both owned by Murdoch.
It'd be interesting to see if a reduced charge for the lack of Sky channels worked wonders and ate away at Sky's numbers.
I don't care for Lost (the dragging out of the first series and the poor beginning to the second left a lot to be desired) and I have peekvid for 24 and since we currently have a Sky box I guess I can watch it semi-legally and without adverts.
I don't think I'd care if we lost the main sky channels but I'd miss Living TV because of Criminal Minds and Boston Legal, two shows that are infinitely better than Lost by the way because things actually happen in them at a fairly speedy pace.
Yeah it would be nice to see sky have egg on their faces. Who knows? A new contract with other channels that supply the awesome programs like the simpsons or lost (But thats fox right?) and virgin could rival sky.
