I'm getting some trouble with socom, and fifa 2004 when they are online.

Socom is lagging really bad, I start about 20 secs (on average), sometimes longer sometimes shorter, into the round.

Fifa I can not get a match on.

I think I need to clean my PS 2.

I've had it for 3 years and its not been cleaned once, so I think it's due one.

If I do not get it wokring online, I'll be OK, as offline seems good still.

It could just be Sococms disk, and fifas servers, but I still want to clean my PS 2.

When I say clean, I don't mean taking the lid of by the way.

If it does not work I will be getitng a new silver one and 2 controllers for Xmas.

Yes all i do with my Playstation2 when i clean it is just use my Hairdryer on cold and Blow it well. Gets rid of the dust quickly and then i use a cotton wool bud for the front grooves. Still looks good as new from day 1.

If that doesnt help ya honey then buy the game Sega Bass Fishing Duel. Loadsa water!!!!!!!!!!! Great fun game though to.

Also watch where you keep it. Needs air to circulate in one vent - through the PS2 and out the other. Keeps it cool while running. So if it is boxed in a small space it might be overheating a little.

I have just hoovered the PS 2.

I shall test online games out after tele.

On a side note, while cleaning the PS 2 I remember what my uncle said a while ago. He said not to leav eit in verticle position and to chnage now and again.

So I've now put it in horizontal.

Hopefully that will help.

Just check when you are going to use your PC online that your PC isn't trying to do anything. Might be causing the slowdown as it tries to do other things at the same time.
