I'm sorry, it does. I thought any hopes Nintendo had of a sudden swift reversal in fortunes were insanely optimistic and that a few of the dedicated Ninties on these forums were getting carried away with the slight sales boost Nintendo experienced...and this proves it.
Sure, Nintendo will pick up sales with Mario Kart and F Zero, but the company was haemoraghing money at an alarming rate when the machine was 129.99 let alone 79.99 or 99.99 with the Mariokart bundle.
On another note, the new OXM is well worth a purchase, and has the following demos (all playable)
Project Gotham 2 (!)
Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
Magic The Gathering Battlegrounds
Metal Arms
Midtown MAdness 3
SSX3
Kao The Kangaroo 2
ESPN NHL Hockey
Plus running demo videos of other titles.
Reviews wise it must be the BEST month ever since launch, I don't know about anyone else but there seems to be a sudden tidal wave of quality titles emerging, and it's not over yet
LOTR Return Of The King 8.5
PGR2 9.3
Crimson Skies 8.9
Broken Sword 9.0
Metal Arms 9.0
Amped 2 8.9
Rainbow Six 3 9.4
Grabbed By the Ghoulies 8.9
Top Spin 9.0
These are the best but there are plenty more reviews, notably SWAT GST and Dynasty Warriors 4 fail to live up to expectations, though in SWAT's case the blame is on Rainbow -why have silver when gold costs the same eh ?
SSX also gets (I think) 7.9 but you'd be daft to buy it when you can get Amped 2, with LIVE play.
This issue also sees the roll out of Microsoft's XSN games.

LM is well over a year old, and Rare are meant to be just as good as Nintendo, and yet from bits I've seen, its not all that great. But it may play brilliantly.

That's very mature.

We all know that Official Xbox Magazine rate games ridiculously highly, especially if they're exclusive, so I'll wait for a rating from XBM or GamesTM before I decide whether this one's worth a try. So far, from the previews I've read, all I can say is that it looks rather uninspired and boring - nothing to challenge Mario Sunshine, Jak & Daxter or their sequels.
And as for Cube platform games, Sunshine is the pinnacle of the genre, Sonic Mega Collection is a solid compilation and Billy Hatcher looks to be shaping up brilliantly. There are also unique variations such as Super Monkey Ball 1&2, Luigi's Mansion and Viewtiful Joe. I agree it hasn't quite performed in it's supposedly prime category, but to me it's a quality collection that looks to improve even more in the future.
Did the time attack with it and seeing as there was no opposition, decided to take my time and experiment with the handling and stuff. As usual I was sliding all over the place until I pulled of this move where I got control of the car back fast. Hard to explain, but a new method of driving the car dawned on me - but as this happened, I finished the time attack round.
Rather than redo the Ferrari, I decided to move onto the Pontiac in a cone challenge. I messed up towards the end a little, but for the most of it, I did ok and scored way more than enough to reach the target set.
At this point, my curiosity growing, I decided to grit my teeth and go back to the Skyline - one of my favourite cars from the first game. I decided I won't go for kudos, I'll just concentrate on the main racing. I flew off the start line and not only collected a good kudos score and a win, but also got through the race perfectly without hitting anything even once.
As I was racing I noticed a significant difference between the 2 PGR games. Although the handling is a lot more unforgiving, the kudos points fly up a lot easier and faster. With my experience of the first game, I had been swinging the car out a lot more to get the points up which of course ended up being lost as I slammed into the barriers.
Even though I was just racing straight with little effort into throwing the car around, I could hear the kudos points flying up like machine gun fire even from the slightest hint of a cool turn.
As soon as I could feel the car losing control, I just used the same method I had done before and I was back in control straight away. But then with the way I was driving I only had split second problems twice which were dealt with well in advance of any barrier hitting moments.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, there may be hope yet. Ugh.....another 40 quid to part with. Bloody games - why do they all have to come out now !? Me thinks I'll have to do some trade ins or something cause I really can't afford to buy all the games I really want in the Christmas run up - have to fly out to the States mid December to be with my fiancee for Christmas.
Anyway, bored everyone enough with the update, gonna finish up and goto bed - crappy work tomorrow. :-|
