This is an intentionally tricky competition. You have to create the best virtual newbie



1. Think of a user name and a tagline to go with it.

2. Delete the cookie for your normal sign up if you have selected "remember me". You can sign up your new name either by scrolling down the left side strip to REGISTER WITH US - DISCUSSIONS, or by signing up as a newbie as you make your first "reply" post.

3. Sign up as a new user, giving your proper name and address. You DON'T need to give your real e-mail address, as I think this has to be unique. But if you want an extra e-mail address you can always sign up for one at Freeola.

4. Come here and write a post under your new virtual newbie name. The post must display your virtual newbie's character and personality.

The winner will be the post which displays the most original character. This character may be adopted for the forums, so make him/her likeable and not horrible.

You can enter as many times as you like.

You can make several entries under the same virtual newbie name.

You can try to guess who are the real regulars behind the virtual newbies.

The competition will be judged at the end of September.

From what I can see on a quick look through the posts here, I will assume that everybody has accepted RBS' apology. No harm done hopefully.

Remember please that the rules state clearly - the new character should be likeable, not horrible.

Also, it would be best if the new characters stayed in this thread rather than leaking out across the forums.

As for this French guy - I can hardly speak a word of the language, but it seem that you don't like our football team - yes? It's OK, we don't like yours.

If you are 18 now, you'd have been 0 when you started your show Roland. It's amazing how quickly you grew. Yes, well maybe you are a puppet and were created at full size but never mind that. I used to like Roland Rat, I think it was the BBC show I saw first. That was a long time ago though and all I have is vague memories of sewers and craziness.

Hi again everybody, this is Mr Funk. I thought I'd tell you about my game idea. It would be a Jay Kay dancing games where you'd have to copy his dancing moves along to Jamiroquai hits! You would have to buy a special mat to stand on, and that would detect all your moves! The more like Jay Kay you are, the more points you get!!! What do you think? It could come on the almighty XBox with ultra-realistic graphics!!!

roland rat is in the forums!

Some of you may remember me from back in 1983 when i first appeared on TV screens as the saviour of ITV's TV-AM with ratings plummeting like hear say's record sales they needed a saviour...they needed something new something..not boreing..they needed Roland Rat!
so ITV hired Kevin the Gerbil,Errol The Hamster,Glenis The Gerbil and Little Reggie..

After Saving TV-AM i went on to have a hit single called living legend and my very own video game on the sinclair spectrum 48k...called Roland's Rat Race!
I Then moved over to the BBC for my own prime time show!

Since then i have spent my time travelling the world in the Ratmobile..until early this year where i have made appearences on "i love 1983" "a question of TV" and "the big breakfast"

Now i spend my time playing on my PS2, my favorite game is GT3
.after reding through the forums i have noiced a few "console wars" topics..i am happy to tell you that i wont be contributing to them i dont care what anyone says about the PS2 i like it and thats all that counts.

As true as that may be Black people were killed in Germany in the same way as Jews. You also missed the point I was making, it was a bad thing that happened in WW2 but bad things are happening now and they are almost the same. The Jewish religion is being used as an excuse to commit genocide on Palastines because if anyone tries to stop it they could be accused of trying to suppress Jews and be seen as evil. The fact is that whoever you are, killing someone is wrong (unless it's self defence perhaps) and who they are is not relevant either you are still doing something that is morally wrong. In War it's kill or be killed but innocent Palastinians are being killed by the Jewish army because they are standing up for their right to be treated as human beings. The very foundations of the European Convention of Human Rights are being breached and the only reason nothing is being done is political. I'm not saying that all Jews are evil, I'm not saying that no Jews would object to what's going on but can you truly say that firing live rounds at people and using tanks to chase them away from their homes is right?

Back to WW2, White Germans that protested will have been persecuted just as badly as Jews for being colaborators so why does nobody seem to realise this? The main thing about WW2 is that people were treated horribly, tortured and killed be they Jews, Christians or whatever else they were still people and didn't deserve to be treated like that. Being Jewish or Christian or Black or whatever shouldn't give you any right to special treatment but noone deserves to be treated unfairly and cruelly. You must remember that not every Jew was in Nazi occupied territory, many fled before things got bad many weren't ever in Nazi territory. So not every Jew can say how unfairly treated they were in WW2 because they may not even be related to people who were actually treated badly. I'm Scottish, you don't see me demanding money and special treatment despite the fact that many Scots were discriminated against in the Highland Clearances. I don't expect English people or anyone else to feel that they have to make up for that because they are separate people who had nothing to do with it. Perhaps they are descended from these people but the thing that is inherintly wrong with Christianity is the "sins of your father" bit. You are your own person, would you demand Adolf Hitler's son be killed on the grounds that his father ordered the killing of thousands of innocents? Of course not, it would be just as evil that is why we must stay with what is happening now and not be stuck in the past treading on our tiptoes trying to avoid discriminating. If we simply said that the killings that are today being done by Jews were wrong regardless of any religion, colour or any other factor then the world could be a better place.
