strange thing is, it 'looks' the dog's danglies. it has two boards that make it look like a multi-storey car park with a balcony.

Download the latest 3.9 catalyst from ATI. I bet with the card you got lower ones maybe 3.8 or 3.7. The 3.9s have only been out about a week so I doubt they are on the CD.

I dont think they do modify it. Basically they get the spec and then they make it out of their components and fit it with different fans, package it and sell it. The Hercules I have was one of the most expensive 9800 Pros as it came with nice copper heatsinks etc, and I still use the same ATI drivers. I dont think that they change anything on the card to make it any different to all the other cards, thats why bench marking each card is pointless as there all the same within a few 0.1 Fps.
From the one review it seemed that Tyan used RAM that wasnt recommend for the spec of the 9600 Pro yet the reviewer still overclocked it so it was faster than the stock 300 by 12mhz.
