A lot.

Really can't understand why anyone would want to though, the game really is boring as hell. It's more of a chat room with cars than an actual game.

You are right about the specs Ali, but if you look at what the guy from Climax said was that they were the specs for Blimey 2 which is the new engine which games are being developed using. Presumably these will be next gen games as he says that they are now ready for PS3 etc.

So that engine isn't for this generation.

The Xbox specs were based PURELY on hardware tests, pure raw power devoted to nothing but the simplest most basic polygon calculations.
Actual use of these polygons brings up a whole load of complications which is why actual game engines never touch the estimate (except for Nintendo's estimates which were based around a game's performance rather than raw power).

These specs are the performance capabilities of the Blimey engine, so actual game performance. Although it won't touch the full potential of the machines, it'll make the most mundane and boring parts of the game making (the actual programming) a breeze so there's more time spent on game design and less trying to fix bugs in the code.

As to multiplayer.
SOME people will have more enhanced internet connections by then for better hosting. Also, I thought that MS had built an entire building dedicated to doing the server duties on XBox live (so that all the users would connect into the server and have their full bandwidth to themselves).

Even with the 512k connection, some games can be made to be more efficient with bandwidth, and the 32 player option is only a potential. Games don't HAVE to use it if they're not capable of doing so!

Stop being such a bloody cynic! :-P

I played Midtown Madness with my mate in a shop.
It was like Destruction Derby but in a big place, even thugh the cars were indestructible.
We just wanted to use the Koenigsegg

Saw it last year! This has been around for ages, looks like someone's just stuck an N64 base underneath a vaccuum cleaner.

Sorry for not posting more clearly before, i am a little familiar with the LIVE function but was unsure what you actually connected to in regards to MM3... sounds similar to Midnight Club 2 on the PC whereas you just connect straight to the game and choose your game style (both games are made by Angel studios so the similarity may be more than a coincidence)

How many people were playing MM3 online last time you played?

MSN gaming Zone? Xbox LIVE is a sevice on its own, you don't even have to have your PC on to run it providing you have a direct connection. LIVE wasn't designed to be used as a web browser and thats why thee isn't a function for it. Theere isn't any of the connection trouble etc you just load up the game click quick match and you are in there straight away. Alternatively you can use Optimatch to narrow down the search for games more suited to your style. LIVE is nothing like PC gaming hence the reason why its a lot more enjoyable.

Midtown Madness 3 on the Xbox is one of the most boring games I have ever played both on and offline. Its like a chat room with some pretty colours.

:O

Midtown Madness 2 is one of the all-time classic online games for the PC, cops and robbers 8 player free-for-all is simply outstanding, 16 player would be a riot!!
