Ah what the heck, I can wait for Project Gotham 2 for a few more weeks! Just ordered Manhunt after reading through quite a few reviews. Gamespot gave it a highly respectable 8.4 whilst the completely over rated IGN gave it 8.5! Read a few more reviews from rather unkown sites but they were all around the 8-9/10 region saying it was very close to the Hitman games with splashes of Max Payne and Splinter Cell creeping in. I have backed this game since it was announced to be something decent and by all accounts its definitley one hell of a game.

A lot have mistaken this for just an out and out Rockstar game with no thought required to succeed. They couldn't be any further wrong however. The stealth system sounds brilliant and the game in fact discourages you from going head on into a fist fight due to the difficulty and the amount of personnel who will appear to back up their allies. There are a wide variety of weapons to choose from and each of the close combat weapons comes with 3 stealth kills depending on how long you choose to wait for the kill. By all accounts its much easier to grab a stealth kill in Manhunt than it was in Hitman 2 or other similar games. ou simply hold down the X button for however long and it will reward you with a cinematic and supposedly completely sick fatality.

A few complaints about some of the shooting sections were saying how difficult they are due to the enemies taking cover and flanking you where ever possible. This and the fact that in the later sections of the game you basically go up against a series of fire fights which some will supposedly grow tired of. From a visual and audio point of view its apparently one of the best games on the PS2 yet dispite the awful screenshots Gamespot have said the game holds its own when seen up and running.

Overall it sounds like a top notch game and when I receive it in the next few days I will comment on how well it plays and how similar it is to the Hitman games.

I just hope it doesn't disappoint!

Its developed by Rockstar North. Rockstar aren't really a decent development team but ever since the first preview I have been pretty sure it would turn out to be a reasonable game.

Also, just to make it look like I'm not 100% against Manhunt, I do hope it is good, I really do.

It looks an interesting game.

Ali, do you know which Rockstar division it's being developed by? If it's from the Vice City team, Rockstar North, I can trust them to be good!

I have the original PC version and it doesn't have Bullet Time. Also there weren't any "diluted" console versions of the original Hitman game. Oooh I know I can have the PC version and sit really close to a monitor all night just for a higher screen resolution. Although I don't want to get into this as I doubt you have even played most of the PC to console conversions.

Well, I've owned Hitman since it was released, and the very first patch incorporated it. Maybe some of the diluted console versions don't incorporate it due to laziness, but the original PC version certainly does.

But it is out tomorrow isn't it?
I don't know about you, but I like to at least know a few opinions about a game I'm thinking of buying. I wouldn't buy Manhunt yet because it could be crap.

Game magazines often review games in the issue before they're released, unless nobody gives them reivew copies for fear of the game getting slated...

Its better than your pathetic attempt at an explanation. Oh and since when did Hitman have Bullet time? Silly sod.

I think True Crime is pretty OK. Not great, but OK.

As for Manhunt, I have a good feeling about this. A very good feeling.

The fact that there aren't many Manhunt reviews is down to the fact that it hasn't even been released yet. True Crime was dire beyond belief as was Enter the Matrix. Gamespot on the other hand are like Edge online and I usually trust most of their reviews to be spot on.

I'm not entirely sure what would comprise of a character system in a game like Max Payne, which essentially has none.

"The way he holds the weapons" - HAHAAHAHAHAAA!

all Max Payne has is guns, some dodgy physics and "bullet-time", all of which Hitman also has by the way.
