Just for the record, Halo did start out as some RTS/FPS hybrid. Theres a video on ign showing it. I would have to disagree that Halo doesn't have the elements of a strategy game. I think the game content is very oriented towards a dual role type of game, thats what makes it different to most other FPS in my opinion.

Uh...Yeah, but strategy games require allot more than just weapons and soldiers, depending on what strategy game Halo would be.

hey a halo RTS, that's an excellent idea - providing they don't screw it up like that alien vs predator extinction malarkey.

Ah, it was a bit suspect that video and I was never truly convinced it was an RTS. Besides, I don't Halo could make a decent strategy game anyway, it has none of the elements you'd associate with such games.

That was the E3 demo, wasn't it? It was just to show off the character models and vehicles and stuff - not actual game shots.

Actually, I think Halo *Did* start off life as an RTS, I saw a video which showed an 3D isometric type game playing out with different types of Halo units running about.

It's a nice idea - But limited.

Think about it, whats it got to offer that will keep gamer's interested? Build town hall, recruit Mini-Cheif, build barracks, recruit master cheif's etc.

I'll stick with Warcraft 3 thanks.
