1080 Avalanche really ends a massive Christmas bundle of games. A few third party classics and Mario Party 5 is still to come. But the good news the worst is over. But what of 2004, isn't it now time to get out of the here and now situation in which Nintendo have forced upon us. Is next year going to be any good? What can we expect.

Well for starters the sequel to Wind Waker will appear at next years E3, perhaps with Mario 128 if it is still due for the Gamecube? But regarding major announcements I am hoping... no PRAYING for an announcement for sequels to Excitebike and Donkey Kong. But for now this is what we know will be released. If I miss any do tell me, and please tell me what you are looking forward to.

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
Harvest Moon
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Pikmin 2
Resident Evil 4
Geist
Starfox 2
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Pilotwings
Donkey Konga
Wario Ware
The legend of Zelda: Four Swords
The Legend of Zelda: Tetras trackers
Pokemon Colleseium
Pacman
Pokemon Box
Pokemon
Animal Crossing 2
Phantasy Star Online Episode III: Card

Pilotwings you never know and from all accounts Geist looked like it was in the later stages of development at E3 and ECTS for an easy September release next year.

Factor 5 are a 2nd party to Nintendo tilt if Rogue Squadron is coming to the X-box it'll be ported by another company. Star Wars of course isn't owned by Nintendo or Factor 5 so Lucas Arts can distribute it accordingly.

Probably not much if the news that Rebel X has been confirmed for Xbox is anything to go by.

Narrowed down to the list of games I'll actually get.

And you can disrsgard Geist and Pilotwings, really, as I doubt they'll be out in 2004.

GEIST will be the best game ever.

I know it.

That list looks pretty tasty to me.

Tilt there is no use wasting your time behind whether the game is good or not knowing full well we are talking about what will attract the gamer... not what is good or not.

Starfox 2 may have looked dodgy because of it been shown a year and a half before it is due for release...

And this game is a Starfox game with the emphasis on multiplayer. Doesn't sound like a re-hash to me AND it isn't even a Nintendo one.

Metal Gear Solid with pretty graphics... exactly as well as the gameplay elements of MGS2... yes not denying that's what it is. But being one of the best selling games on the Playstation you can get the picture that this game will PULL BIG TIME on the Gamecube.

Final Fantasy: CC looks and by all accounts is fantastic... and again the final fantasy series pulls millions and has such a loyal fan base.

Yes Code Veronica may not pull many gamers (despite how excellent it is) but 4 certainly will no matter how the popularity has dipped for the series.

And of course these are only the confirmed games. Who know what we'll see from Factor 5, HAL etc... in fact there is still tonnes of games to come we don't even know about and won't hear about till E3. Next years line up is looking as good as this years.

Resi 4 looks great. But Code Veronica is hardly gonna bring in the punters. Geist? from what we've seen of this it's looking like a very average shooter with a couple of original ideas. Starfox? *yawns* looked gash at E3 and don't you think people are getting bored of Nintendo's endless rehashes yet? Final Fantasy CC is supposedly a load of gash and Twin Snakes is just MGS with pwetty graphics.

Nintendo are gonna have to do a lot more if they expect to do well next year. Sure there's been a rise in sales recently but that's mainly because of the price drop, once people get over the "wow Gamecube for £80" factor, what will be Nintendo's next move?

So 2 Resident Evil titles included the much touted 4, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and Geist isn't going to attract a wide audience? Compared to what we got this year that attracted other gamers this line up looks fantastic. Oh Wow Mario Kart and that was it.

Watch out for Starfox 2. Namco will hit the spot.
