Yes, *another* pointless Mario Kart topic, but I'm curious about this one.

In previous Mario Kart games could you get a boost start after respawning from a crash? I just noticed yesterday on Double Dash that when Lakitu drops you, you can time turning on the acceleration to get a speed boost... annoying that I only found out after I've completed the 1-player mode, but meh.

So did Mario Kart 64/Super Mario Kart/Super Circuit have this?

In fact I haven't noticed that and XIII, True Crime and 1080 all give me evil looks when I go to pick Mario Kart up.

Oh the pressure.

Have you noticed that when you go over a speed ramp thing you can hold the D stick backwards and you Kart will start to tilt, you can then perform a wheelie. Was this in other MK's? and is it of any use?

Yes you could do it if you accelerate as you fall.

Yes. You could do it in both Mario Kart 64 and `Super Circuitī.

It's a shame you can't hop or not spin-out after hitting a banana skin.

In MK64 you could do this. Dunno about Super Circuit though.

don't think so, I used to use a mushroom to boost after being dropped, nice to see it's changed in MKDD
