okay i was just at amazon.co.uk and ordered 2 games for the ps2 (merely cos it was cheaper)...
and then i decided to look at some reader reviews of the ps2 console...
and quite a few (some who had given it 4 out of 5 even) were talking about how the dvd playback was really bad and like other problems with the dvd....
is this true....
also are there any problems i should know about with the dvd side of the ps2...cos i was actually intending it not only to be my gaming machine (along with my dc) but also my dvd player....

You just go to the screen setup options, and it allows you to change it no problem. Then you just press play again, and it returns you to the exact spot. Not a problem.

The Lip sync issue is with a couple of

You can also pause it temporarily, and that sorts it out too.

Another thing I've noticed while watching the castaway

That could be just a bad disc. I had that happen on one, and then changed it. Also, one of my PSM2 demo DVDs had it happen, and still does (the one with the GT3 intro on it)

I'm sure you'll get your PS2 asap, least you don't have to fill in a preorder form and wait, wait then wait some more for your confirmation letter.
