This idea is just an extension to the chat rooms and forums, all it is is a simple messaging system, like the forums.

if you want to contact someone but they're oofline and you havn't got their e-mail address you could simply click on their name or type they're name into a search box and send them a message, the recipient would recieve all their messages when they log onto SR and so on.

what do you think?

It's exactly the same as vboard's service. And, as I've said, I'd be more than happy to do all the programming.

I like the idea, just all depends on what the staff think and also on how much effort and time and programming would be required to get it up and running.

ok, I understand that everyone like MSN, but it's not the same thing, it's like an e-mail servise but without e-mail addresss, it's like a mini forum e-mail system, when you log on you can see if you have any messages (like MSN) if you havn't already got someone's e-mail address you can search for them on SR and send them a message + SR might be able to do something so if you win a GAD or FAD you get a message sent to you and you send one back to claim it...etc, etc, it's not an online chat room (IM) it's a leave message to people offline thing. SRM?

I think TOny's thinking, "Great idea. No really, it is. But... an hour to implement the idea into the server, or an hour of (Max Payne- replace with Tony's favourite office game). Do you see? Besides, MSN has already beaten him to it. Rather let someone else do the work, eh?

it would be good, cause i rather click on a name and talk, then add people to my MSN list, i hate it when i have too many people online at once.

i think that is a great idea. Ive not long been here and i dont know anybody that much but this way i can chat to people casualy and get to know more people rather than what they think of a topic etc.
