yeah funny wernt it?!

I love seeing arsenal lose, especially at highbury. My hate for them has been building up for years, and i cant control the emotion of happiness i feel when this happens.

Arsenal only bought 2nd rate players in the summer (with the exception of cambell). They were just average players. Arsenal are falling to pieces. Vieira will leave at the end of season, Wenger will go soon after....Happy day.

Yes, but then Andy Cole is nowhere near as good as Henry and you know it. I don't support anyone before you start to ask or comment but on a good day Henry is class and Cole is a pile of doggys droppings.

Nistlerooy on the other hand.......

You could if you just stood there an ddidn't move, but if you're clever and slowly back off, you just waste a few seconds - stopping the quick free kick.

The only problem with that is the defending player runs the risk of getting booked if the free kick strkes him, considering how freely refs are dishing them out at the moment wouldn't be suprised to see it either.

I ust hope they sort it out, as I said I think this will be one of the best seasons in the Premiership since it's inception, why spoil it by smothering great football with pointless free kicks and bookings?

A player from the defending team should stand over or near the ball while the wall is being set up just to waste a few vital seconds. You see it all the time in Italian football.

The thing with free kicks is that, some refs insist you wait until they blow the whistle, while others don't. It just needs to be consistent otherwise how do players know what to play for? The message being sent is that you have no time to position the wall, just get ready and hope for the best,

Ian Harte quite literaly got the nod from the ref in the Arsenal/Leeds game, half the players on the pitch were not even lookinng the right way, the wall wasn't ten yards. You know that if the fre kick had hit an Arsenal player they would have been demanding a re-take.

This is just the FA on it's own, FIFA only get involved when it comes to rule changes or internationals, rather than interpretation of existing rules.

Each nations Football Association governs the way there refs behave. UEFA influence behavior in European clashes.

I was under the impression that the generation of the 'Proffesional ref' ment that they would have more of an influence over how the game is played. Obviously not!

The FA is removing the refs ability to interpret the game as it flows, you must book for this, you have to allow for that. They know the rules, just let them officiate the game and stop telling them how to do it.

It seems to me that refs always stick rigidly to the rule book at the beginning of seasons, then after a few games everyone complains and makes a fuss, then common sense comes into play.

Tez Venables clarified the quick free kick thing tonight on the Premiership: you can take a free kick instantly anywhere on the park unless the ref tells you not to.

I didnt see the game. I didnt even know it was on! i came home from work at about 10pm and saw them lot on ITV sport select or whatever it is called talking. all i saw was 3 of the goals.

The charity sheild was the worst for stopping play when an advantage could have been played. That was really really annoying.

Does the FA does this all on thier own? or do FIFA have any input on it?
