In November this year Nintendo announced they would be making an announement. A pre-warning announcement no doubt, to get the hype wheel turning. Iwati claims it is not the successor to the Gameboy... nor the Gamecube... instead a "third pillar to go along side them both"...
eh?
Could he be geering us up for Pokemon mini 2?
Or are we looking at Nintendo's next big thing?
Could Nintendo be planning something so good that any fears about their future is laid to rest?
Or is this a new design for the Congo Drums?
E3 2004... wouldn't miss it for the world.
And it's hardly a new piece of hardware to go along side the Gameboy and Gamecube.

Can't see online gaming being the big thing they are hyping up, as much as I would love more online Cube games, Ninty really have to come up with something special and they implied it was a new "product" not "service"
