Earlier today I sent a letter to Barclaycard. I've given them 14 days to give me back all my 'late payment' and 'over credit limit' charges totaling 120 =)

I had to send it Special Next Day Delivery which cost me £4.10 :( (¬_¬ more money into Kawada's pocket) to make sure they sign for it and I have all the proof I sent it.

After 14 days I'll take them to court. It's likely they'll offer me a bit of it back (Maybe £50) before the 14 days are up and put it straight into my account regardless. I'll then accept it as part payment but I'll tell them I'm still taking them to court for the rest of it. Well lets be honest, if you owed a bank money they would expect you to pay all of it, wouldnt they?

After turning down their offer I then take it to my local court, which I think is in Cheltenham or Gloucester. Then I contact Barclaycard again and give them the court details and then I sit and wait. =)

It's very likely they'll offer me a complete refund at the last minute before the court date but if it does go to court, then I'll turn up and win by default because they'll never turn up =). It would be suicide for them if they did, I mean, how could they justify charging me £24 for something that realistically costs them less than £4? It would end up in the papers again and then even more people would want their money back. Which is what they don't want.

It's not so bad if it goes to court (which'll cost me £30) because then I can charge them interest and have them pay my court fees aswell as my £120 =D

I'll keep you guys updated on how things go. :)

Does anyone else have any ridiculous charges (other charges too not just late and over limit charges) from their bank? credit card? store card? etc in the last 6 years? Even if they reduced it from £20+ to £12 you can still claim it all back.

I was smart enough to save all my statements over the last 3 years, as I've always wanted to get the money back. Okay if I was smart I wouldnt have got these charges in the first place, but 2 of the 5 of them I got because I paid my bill at the bank the day before the due date, which didn't matter to them and still charged me £48. ¬_¬

If you don't have 6 years worth of statements don't worry you can get them, though it might cost you £10. Which is obviously worth it even if they owe a lot more than that.

A lot of people have been claiming back £1000s :S some from several companies as well. The lowest I've seen claimed back is just £20. The highest was £15,000.
