While it's always been certain a third incarnation was coming (it said so at the end of Burnout 2's credits), I feared the Gamecube wouldn't see it due to Acclaim abandoning the Cube last year. But now EA have bought the rights to publish the third title.

No one knows why Acclaim have sold this license, as it's probably their best. Burnout 2 was a cracking title, and the Crash mode was great fun. Checking the developer Criterion's site shows that it's not coming quite yet, they're working on other projects, but at least now when it does come, it'll come to Cube.

A: Burnout 3 isn't a system seller because it's multiformat
B: And nevermind? It's the best street racing game on the Gamecube!

It'll take a while... maybe 6 months... but if coding has began and they feel it might do well after all then I really don't see why not.

So what about Driv3r? Could the reason that is has been delayed, is that they are looking at bringing it out on the cube also, or is that my optimistic thinking?

Acclaim - We haven't cancelled support for the Gamecube but will be releasing things on a game by game basis.

Eidios - Exactly the same

Timesplitters 2 and Burnout 2 did very well on Cube.

Timesplitters 3 and Burnout 3 wouldn't be getting a release on Cube if EA hadn't bought the rights to them.

As it stands they're both scheduled for all consoles.

LOL

Anyway, TS3 still slated for release across all consoles.
As for Burnout 3, it might get a release six months after PS2/Xbox. Both projects too early on to guess.
