An RPG does'nt have to have turn-based combat, in fact turn-based combat tends to let down some RPG's, if Zelda on the N64 had a turn-based combat system do you think that it would have been as popular? i don't think so, and i reckon that the combat system in zelda is better than the system used in games like, aiyden chronicles, i mean the game was let down by a poor turn-based combat system!
Turn-based combat may work for some RPG's, but as zelda has shown, you don't need a turn-based combat system to make a great RPG, anyway, RPG stands for "Role Playing Game" e.g. you take on the role of another person!?! anyway, games like zelda just go to show that RPG's aren't just about turn-based combat, they are also about, exploring places and dungeons e.t.c, collecting items and using them in different ways to your advantage, defeating enemies in original ways (not just hack n slash!), and most importantly talking to people!
RPG's may be in your opinion (tiltawhirl) about turn-based combat and stuff like that, but in my opinion the best RPG's are the most original ones.

If Gamecube isn't more powerful than PS2, then why is ExtremeG3 on Gamecube goin to have a 4-player multiplayer while the PS2 is only having a 2-player one? Hmm? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Also, they've been developing with the Gamecube for a few months tops, they've had their PS2 dev kits probably around 2 years. So shut ure big fat cakehole Sonyphile.

RPG's boring??? well i don't think so, especially not zelda, zelda never gets boring in my opinion, but i do like a variety of rpg's so i can't wait for the gamecube, here's my list of the top 5 rpg's that i reckon will be the best on gamcube...

1.) Zelda, nuff said really!
2.) Star fox- Dinosaur planet, just look at the graphics!
3.) Galleon, an RPG featuring a pirate?, could be a hit!?!
4.) Eternal Darkness, time travel, swords, guns sounds good!
5.) Kameo, an original RPG? well almost, but it's by Rare!

This chart has been compiled on a first impression basis and on what i have seen so far in screens, reviews, e.t.c and so could change nearer the time, but for now that's my most anticipated top 5! what's your top 5?
