"The GameCube might not have quite as many exclusives as the competition, but when a GameCube game goes big, it goes huge."

Just received this email from Gamespot.

Ahhhh! I just realised!

Mr Mosquito's the peeping tom mosquito game. I thought it was the good mosquito game where you have to draw blood from people without getting smacked.

Or is that the same game?

As for your retarded Konami comment. I never said they were crap, much to your displeasure; I was merely pointing out that they could do wrong and that they don't dominate the majority of genres with the best title.

Sorry to distrub you from your little PS2 ramming session.

No you see a lot of games release on the PS2.. are like Mr. Mosquito. This was a game that is in my eyes awful... but the Japs loved it... the same applies with Doshin the Giant... some Japanese games, FF, Zelda, Mario etc... are pretty universal but not games such as this.

And loads of them are released on the PS2... It does do a lot of filling of the release list.

Not always the case I know but a lot of them are at times... especially around christmas. It's like Hitman 2... killer title in the west... would just flop in Japan.

Boktai isn't revolutionary, from what I've read it's simply a gimmick, although I'll be sure to pick it up on release.

What has this thread turned into, by the way? At first it was about exclusives, now it just seems to be pointless moaning about consoles, quoting games and support by the dozen-load and hint of fanboyism in places.

People get far too worked up about these kind of quotes; you've got to remember that these reviews/articles are for the general public (casual gamer) not just the 'hardcore' audiences. To me, that's a compliment to the Cube; the PS2 has more exclusives, but GameSpot are stating, however far apart exclusive Cube releases are, they're special ones.

Yes, the Cube has a handful of triple A exclusives that are far superior to most games on rival consoles, but don't match up in terms of numbers. To be honest, I think most people will see this if they're interested in getting a Cube and minor quote like this won't affect their decision in any way shape or form.

Articles like the ones on BBC are the only really damaging ones, being overly bias with stupid, pig-ignorant ideas like Nintendo's apparent dire sales (lacking, yes, but dire, no) that will force the Cube to be 'die', so to speak.

People will read these kind of articles and disregard Nintendo's machines because of some stupid BBC nobhead who thinks he knows about video games, when all he really knows is about as much as any casual gamer, with his head firmly jammed up his a**e.

These little quotes mean nothing.

You're talking about a f*&king arcade game! The PS2 doesn't even come into it, we do not all have a fanboy perspective on the games industry, and you saying Silent Scope is crap does not change the fact you can find a machine in every arcade, student union, bowling alley and many pubs across the UK(*)!! It is a very popular machine, which was the comment that started you down this little path of disagreement! At a pound a go, people will not play it if it's crap.

I'll stop this by saying yes, you are right - Konami are crap if that's what you want to believe. Cool Girls will undoubtedly also be crap, but if lots of people buy it and enjoy it... hopefully you will let it slide without trying to tell them they are wrong (fat chance)

(*)Based on knowledge of the central belt and visits to Manchester/London only!!
