Yup and the strange thing is i love my stats and management games (hence why i'm a total fanboy of Champ Manager) and i had no enjoyment from this at all. Just like they messed up the card game from 8 to 9 they messed this up

Not a clue sorry because i have the chip in mine not the flip top. If you had a chip then you could just turn the chip off and it wouldn't be a problem, can't give you an definite answer though about the lid, can't see why it would though.
I'll also be using a dev kit with the PS2, do you know if it'll affect the flip top lid and vice versa? It uses a HD plugged at the back of the PS2.

Myself i wasn't too amazed by FFX. For me it was just a decent RPG, nothing too special although i did spend hours on Blitzball. Can't believe the stupid decision they made for FFX-2 to make BB a management only game.
