We all know the obvious games that we should be on the look for when released, the games that are set to be a great experience to play.

The likes of:

Gran Turismo 4
Killzone
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Driv3r
Metal Gear Solid 3
Rainbow Six 3
Resident Evil Outbreak
Hitman Contracts
Syphon Filter Omega Strain

Just wondering what other games you expect to turn out great.

i find it mad that PSM2 are asking capcom to realease resident evil 4 on PS3, its a gamecube game, does this mean that the late quality of graphics on GC will = that of PS3?

They also say that it would be like when they realeased code veronica on dreamcast then PS2 later, but DC was far superior to PS1 than the GC is to PS2.

Comparing a relatively new game to a 3 year old one isn't exactly fair, wait until GT4 comes out

, Killzone

I'll wait until it actually comes out and i play it before i give my judgement on it

and Metal Gear Solid and GTA

Keyword - Eventually. Most people will want to play those games now instead of waiting 6 odd months

>but it's clear to see that the PS2 has had its day.

Once again, for you it may have. However there's at least 20 games coming out this year i'll be getting.

A shame really. Sony probably need to release a new console, but Nintendo and Microsoft are still going strong.

Average console has a life span of around 5-6 years, PS2 has been out since 2000 so yes it is on its last legs and will likely be replaced towards the end of 2005 by a new Sony console (Ps3)

I think Microsoft and Nintendo will also release newer consoles around this time too.

Its exclusives are getting thinner by the day. The Gran Turismo series has already been beaten by Project Gotham Racing 2, Killzone apparently isn't living up to the hype and Metal Gear Solid and GTA will eventually find their way onto other consoles.

I'm not bothered really - there are still a few old PS2 games I need to play through - but it's clear to see that the PS2 has had its day.

But thats just a personal opinion, the likes of GT4, Killzone, Grand theft autos san andreas are going to appeal to a lot of PS2 owners.

I've got a cube and there are only a handfull of games out this year that I want.

It may have one or two games worth considering, but right now the PS2 is looking very much past its prime, while the GameCube and Xbox look to have a very prosperous future.

I agree. I still love my PS2 and I am looking forward to lots of games coming out this year. I would list them but I can't be assed.
