Now one thing (hopefully) even Playstation fans can accept is that when it comes to variety Nintendo give you the better options. First we have colours, the N64 has a large collection of different N64 colours, the Gameboy Color is the same and so is the Gameboy Advanced even the Gamecube will have a selection of colours to choose from.
So what I hear you cry, since when has colours had an effect on gaming, well as Tesco’s say every little helps and if you are one of those people who don’t like purple or black it is nice to be able change it. But I’m not just talking about the colours of controllers and consoles I’m also talking about your ability to choose what sort of console you want. The PS2 is expensive, this isn’t a big criticism but one thing that drives up the price is its ability to play DVD’s. If it was £100 who would want to buy a DVD player if they get a game console and DVD machine combo for cheaper?
Unfortunately people who already have a DVD player or don’t want one isn’t getting a good deal, they are paying extra and the extra they are getting is something they don’t want. Now Nintendo make a console without a DVD player to cater for the people with low budgets or don’t want a DVD player whilst Panasonic make a more expensive console for those who can afford more and want a DVD player. A nice bit of variety there.
Nintendo games also show a lot of variety, they tend to be unashamedly cute but if you like Racing, Golf, Board games, platformers, RPG’s, Beat ‘em ups and puzzle games you can get a Mario game! It is quite amazing how Nintendo can make so many different types of games to cater for so many different peoples tastes involving a fat Italian plumber! Smash Brothers is a great example of Nintendo’s variety as you can compare Nintendo’s big name characters and discover how different they are.
So should we see more Variety in games? Is Variation in colours important? Will we be able to pick and choose graphic and sound chips to suit our budget much like a PC’s in the future? What do you think?
Here’s to the future

What about the All Nintys are biased (that was Turbo right?)

I think you missed the point of that post. It was all just a bit of fun, and it was a retalliation to one of Dan's posts.
Everyone (apart from er-no) that read it could see the funny side, I'm just sorry that you can't.

Therefore, it is a

He has a point, if RPG fans like an RPG then it is good. If an RPG fan doesn't like an RPG it is bad.
Come on turbonutter back to basics now there is 3 main console manufacturers...
The PS2 has loads of good games, far too many to be exact. I have 9 games now, they're all great, there are 2 games out now that I want, possibly 3, and there are mor great gaes coming out next month. Coupled with the fact that Christmas is coming, the PS2 has a very bright future ahead of it.
All this, and all you can say about the GC is that the games LOOK good, or they MIGHT be good. You have no idea how they'll all be. At least I can play on my fantastic PS2 games on my fantastic PS2. Disagree? Fine, I accept that, but don't go rubbishing it in that matter-of-fact way that a lot of Nintys use.
Look, I'm not stereotyping here. It's a fact that a lot of Nintys are biased and ignorant. I know because I spend a lot of time on the Nintendo forum putting you lot straight about thing you think you know about but blatently don't. I don't get involved about arguments to do with games because I know nothing about it.
A lot of people on these forums shoud adopt that attitude, because all that happens is someone proves them wrong, they take it personally and we end up in this kind of situation where everyone is hating everyone and insults are flying round like flys on a dung heap.
Look at it from the beginning. Who thinks that every game Shigsy looks at will be a great game? Not every game with Mario in it is class, who thinks that? Of course Nintendo is for kids, and middle aged people and pensioners and everyone. Most people other than the Japanese would think that big is better. The Ps2 an upgrade purely because of the controller? No it is an upgrade because it is the sequel console to the console of sequels. Even the name is a sequel. All games of the same genre must be better than game cube. Oh really. Well I know that for flight sims and strategy games the PC is best. Never lose an argument, sounds like you to me. Never admit to the N64 losing to the PS at all costs. Here we go the PS was more popular. Blindly accept everything Ninty say, well most of us do not believe a word they say because of Yamauchi's threat to can GC and because of the crazy release schedules. Oh and the console experts do say that the GC has better loading times than the PS2. The Ninty invented the PS anyway argument. Well I do not use it. Who does? A sensible post? I do not think so. This incidentally was not the post I was looking for. But is just as stupid.
"Some games that are bad in the eyes of reviers can be good to other people."
Therefore, it is a good game?
So if an RPG got 60% it is probably written by an RPG fan.
> obviously knows nothing about the PS2 (like a lot of Nintys). I

Well it wasn't really utter twaddle was it, the fact that maybe there are some good games for the playstation 2 like red faction, gt3 if that sort of games intrests which it dosent me. But you only have to read the press that the Playstation 2 has got to work out that it really hasnt got many good games. You only have to read this weeks digitiser hot topic to work out that the Playstation 2 i not as good as you make it out. The hot topic this week is "can GT3 save the Playstation" hmmmmm doesent sound like digi one of the most unbiased bunch of people ever are big fans of the PS2.
Wing Over is a prime example. In nearly every mag it received crap review, somewhere near the 6/10 or 60% mark. However, I loved it. I really like combat sims. Now, if that had been on the N64, it would never have come out, and some people who would have boought it were denied. That's an awful thing to do. I like a good choice even if half of it is crap.
