"I bought six games today !"

Oh yes I did. There was a deal on in Virgin Megastores for '3 games for £40' so I bought 6 games for £80. The games I bought were all PS2 games: X111, The Getaway, Freedom Fighters, Grand Theft Auto 3, Tom Clancey's Splinter Cell and Space Invaders: Anniversary Edition. So these are my first views on these games:

X111 - Very nice graphics and good fun to play, great storyline.
Based on first impressions I'd give it 7/10

Space Invaders: Special Edition- I was in a retro mood and when I saw it, I couldn't resist. It has nine modes:
Monochrome mode - classic black and white mode.
Colour mode - identical to Monochrome mode exept it is in colour.
Cellophane mode - cool game in which space invaders are clear and background is multi-coloured.
Upright mode - Very hard mode.
Upright mode 2 - Very hard mode of Space Invaders 2.
VS Mode - You and another person compete to see who can wipe out the aliens first.
Doubles mode - You and another person work toghether to try and wipe out the alien army.
3D Mode - Very cool three-dimesional graphics version of the original game
Space Invaders 2 Colour Mode - Space Invaders 2 in colour.
It's a great game and based on first impressions I'd give it 6/10

I haven't really played the other games much yet, so I'll review them later.

This means that special Easter offers aside, what you paid, £80 was still a pretty good deal. Well found!

XIII Is far too slow and crap on a joypad control system that I didn't like it one bit and couldn't last playing it for more than about 10 minutes, but that's probs cos I'm new to the joypad FPS control. Mmm, I'll get there soon enough.

The Getaway - Rather dull in places, but has its perks. 6/10.
Grand Theft Auto 3 - Excellent, better than Vice City. 9/10.
Splinter Cell - Very good stealth 'em up action. 8/10.

Top class game, it should have sold a lot more on release than it did.

Not a bad collection of games there. Never played Freedom Fighters but heard its pretty good and Space Invaders is always a classic. The rest I thought were quality games. Bargain!

Well, I guess it's cheap for a high st. retailer.
