My god, C&C: Generals the best RTS ever!!! What have you been smoking? What about Medieval Total War, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Homeworld, Total Annihilation and the countless other RTS games that better anything the C&C series has to offer.
And while I'm on the subject of RTS game, the Combat Mission series is a great bunch of highly addictive strategy titles. Well worth a look.

Age of Empires
Medieval Total War > Shogun Total War > C&C Red Alert.
No game can beat the TW series for RTS - because it's just so obviously so much more incredible, huge, varied and skillful.

Red Alert 2 was an entertaining game for sure, but did nothing the previous C&C games hadn't done already, and it came out at a time where I think hardened strategy gamers such as myself wanted more from an RTS than building up a huge number of tanks and rushing them towards the enemy until they where defeated.

total war is best. red alert was cool
