Right, this is what I've been told is the status:

B = Very high grade
C = High grade
D = Average
E = Below average
U = "A corpse could score more!"

The reason there isn't an A is because it's the intermediate one.

Result Stuff
Test number 1 (i & ii)

Taken on the 7th Nov 2006
Result on the 18th Jan 2007: B (66 marks)

Test Number 2 (i & ii)
Taken on the 8th Mar 2007
Result (Can't remember dateor marks): B

Test Number 3 (i)
Taken on the 4th June 2007
Result: TBC

Test number 3 (ii)
Taken on the 11th June 2007
Result: TBC (Along with overall result)

I will update when necessary.

I found the step up from GCSE's to A - Levels was massive for me and I really struggled, however I thought the first year at University was easier than A - Levels with the second and especially the third years being really tough.

Maths was my joint-lowest grade; B in Maths, to go with BB in Science, I guess I just wasn't good at those subjects! 1 A* and 6 A otherwise, if I had worked harder at German and ICT it'd be 3 A*, but there's no point refelecting on that now I'm doing A-Level, hopefully on the way to the AAB I need to get on my preferred university courses!

GCSEs aren't wholly geared to providing for A-levels remember. Many people don't take A-Levels but have GCSEs.

Anyway, hope they're good results.

Aparently the OCR Chem course starts off from GCSE. I did the Nuffield course - here's a diagram of something that you've never seen before - tell me what it does, what goes in it and how much yield to expect.

Not bad seeming it's on the first page. A-LEvels aren't easy

GCSE are very easy. It teaches you pretty much the basics again. Its completely inadequate for A-level. For example in biology, you're told that a (animal) cell is made of a cell membrance, nucleaus and cytoplasm.

In A-level they tell you something much, much different and they add a hell of a lot more parts to it. So much so it becomes very difficult to remember or learn. It also mixes in chemistry concepts making it even harder.

GCSE was a waste of time and a piece of cake.

Although i was crap at maths. Managed only a c (just)

Um they could abolish them.. or they could put things like the grade boundary required for an A in maths above about 40%...

I did the first year of GCSE, which basically meant that the teachers were so confused over the system, considering they'd been used to O'levels all their teaching careers.

It was a real mess, but then I didn't care about exams, I just wanted to get out of school at the time. I went to college later and got a few more GCSEs when I felt like it, along with my BTEC.

Hell, I didn't even pass Maths the first time, and I work for a financial company, go figure...

Ah GCSE's... Irreletivity second only to the SAT's.

If things continue, in 10 years time they'll have to abolish them, as my 10 year old sister could pass them all.
