Right, this is what I've been told is the status:

B = Very high grade
C = High grade
D = Average
E = Below average
U = "A corpse could score more!"

The reason there isn't an A is because it's the intermediate one.

Result Stuff
Test number 1 (i & ii)

Taken on the 7th Nov 2006
Result on the 18th Jan 2007: B (66 marks)

Test Number 2 (i & ii)
Taken on the 8th Mar 2007
Result (Can't remember dateor marks): B

Test Number 3 (i)
Taken on the 4th June 2007
Result: TBC

Test number 3 (ii)
Taken on the 11th June 2007
Result: TBC (Along with overall result)

I will update when necessary.

Surely if she says D is the average for an intermediate paper then it is - it's not necessarily the average overall.

D isnt an average. C is an average hence results being quoted in A-C passes. Just becaues its an intermediate paper you cant change what the results mean. Its an intermediate paper because the questions are easier.

Despite girls doing better than boys in exams? Or do you mean the exams might be held during...sensitive times...

Exams teach you how to retain information in your short term memory, nothing else. If you have a bad day, you're bggerd.

Modular work also has its problems, but a more structured modular system, with all module work done in class and small exams that were set to require no revising would be far more beneficial.

The point is that you shouldn't need to revise for exams if the point of them is to show your knowledge on a subject. But since most people revise, there's obviously a problem in them being used to represent knowledge. They don't.

D is an average? Jesus my family would frown upon that. A-C or nothing. So C is classed as high huh, whilst i did intermediate (for sets 3 to 2) we aimed for cs at least and no one said D was average.

Isn't that due to the fact most courses don't have much (if any?) work that you're assessed on? Still, it sounds good to me, having a year that sin't wuite as bad before things really heat up!
