Rare and any other companies owned by Nintendo are second parties.

Third Party companies make games for whoever and don't get support from Nintendo.

Nintendo get Second Party devellopers to make games like Rogue Squadron and Mario Tennis.

Metroid on the Gamecube is being made by one.

The only second party I know was the one I had when I became two years old!

I thought RARE were a 2.5 party or something might have been second party??

That's because developers are running out of original ideas because they've all been done before.

DSon't you mean "Nintendo and the THIRD party teams"?

Originality is becoming more and more rare. Enjoy it while it lasts and don't worry about who makes it.

Give some examples Meka_Dragon. And no, games aren't original if they are on a Nintendo console, it's the developers that make them that way.

yes but when it comes down to it, the company that has created the most original and actually playable games and that has come up with the most usefull innovations is Nintendo, and all the parties that work for them...

Why is a game more original just because it appears on a Nintendo console?

I'll say this, Nintendo and the second party teams that work for Nintendo do produce some original, and highly innovative games.

There are other software developers out there too making original games, most of which have appeared on the Playstation in the past, as they had more third party support than Nintendo.

Sega also produce innovative and original games, and they will be developing for GAMECUBE, Playstation 2 and Xbox.

I totaly agree!!! Nintendo have always been first with original ideas and new innovations, and every other games company in the world tries to copy them and fails miserably, either that or they do well and then get sued by Nintendo but either way they can't win against Nintendo, and Shigeru Mtamoto is one of the best if not "The Best" games designer in the world and then some, just look at all the Zelda, Mario and Donkey Kong games they are gaming experiences of the most highest order, excellence, playability and quality! and in my opinion Zelda, Ocarina of time is the best game ever made in the world! Don't you agree?
