1) What speed is the optimum Live connection? i.e, what minimum does it need to run without too much lag etc?

2) Any dodgy ISPs?

3) Can I order a Brodband package now, and then activate it in a week or so when my line is activated? I.e plug everything in, and then 'activate' a BB account on the same day the lines are activated.

4) Why did the 2-month free trial have to expire end of March? B*stards.

Gah, not finished yet.

Don't use AOL. Ever.

I bought my Live kit a month before I set up the account and just used the head set for RS3 at the time. The year starts from when you set the account up. That's what you mean isn't it?

Some of the use things like 340kbps DSL. Which isn't as bad as it sounds, because that A in our ADSL is for Asymetric, whereas their 340kbps is symetric, i.e. they get 340kbps both ways.

So ADSL for live only runs at 256kbps in the normal 312/256 kbps ADSL, as the 256 kbps upload speed of most people is the weakest link.

I know what I am trying to say, even if you don't.

Ah yes, don't all the US players use like half-assed connections or something?

Opitmal speed for LIVE is 512k providing it has an upload of 256k for hosting.

I think I am on 768k upload for hosting now which is much better for more players.

Any connection can have lag, I now have 1mb and experience very minimum lag however joining any American game will cause lag on LIVE from the UK.

Best ISP's are Pipex and BT Broadband.

You can get the stuff and then ask them to activate it whenever you want to.

They are complete anal monkeys, I was one day out but needed a new kit anyway.
