I know this has probably been posted on these forums before but I haven't seen it, so here goes: I was just scrolling through a list of intended GC releases when 2 names jumped off and hit me in the face (ouch). These were Metal Gear Solid 2 and SSX Tricky. Is this true? Please don't tell me the only reason I got a PS2 was for GT3! Pllleeeaaassseee!

Nintendo showing their bad side...

They've paid dearly for it though because it led to more 3rd party devellopers making for rivals (like PS and Mega Drive) and Nintendo lost console sales as a result.

Yes I have heard about Codemasters, and I've heard about Datel who also had the same problem.

They were sued by Ninty because they made hacking devices to change the way games are played. But because the carts don't actually change games permanently and because they don't cause any harm, Nintendo lost the case.

Rocket games, which I think is part of Datel, makes games for the UK and brand new Game Boy Color games are £14.99

They aren't exactly the best quality, however they are better than some of the 'authorised' games!

Never heard about Codemasters? Basically Ninty would not let any non-jap company make snes games... but codies did anyway! And they were sued by ninty... ninty lost the case... and codies became a huge company!

I've just realised that that little gold thing was a seal of quality! I never knew that! (When I had a 64, I bought games based on mag reviews and playing at friends' houses... not some gold sticker!)

u know DOA2 was officially an exclusive DC game in aremica (Sega USA paid temco to keep it that way). So trmco made DOA2: Hardcore on the PS2!

And Konami have announced MGSX for the xbox, as well as a few GC games

There are already 2 GT games out on the Game Boy Advance so what's to stop them appearing on the GameCube?

Hopefully, Nintendo will go back to how they were in the times of the SNES and accept nearly anyone to develop games for their consoles.

How did Carmageddon 64 get the 'Seal of Quality'?

PS2 games are all ready shooting to the GC faster than the hamster in side the YBox can get around his wheel, this is not a bad thing at all, it will increase the user base for the GC, nearly every good game from the PS2 will be offered for release on the GC and that just mean more choice in what we play. One of the problems with the N64 was it only had Nintendo and Rare as the real developers, the GC will change that and with so many great games ready for release its up to Nintendo to pick and choose.

Oh look, no paragraphs...

Ant, many games have been confirmed to be exclusive to one console but have later taken onto others... if the GC is extremely successful then Kojima may revert his comments.

Konami have already confirmed that they're working on the Gamecube so an MGS game will hit it sooner or later.

And although MGS2 is meant to be a PS2 exclusive, Episode 1 racer was an N64 exclusive until 2 months AFTER it's release so hopefully it'll make an appearance on the Cube

You won't find MGS2 on the GC anytime soon.... when the GC user base picks up you might but not until early 2003. I don't know if they'll be able to do a straight port....
