Wonderfully wonderful game.
Yep, got it the other day. God damn this game is class. I'd elaborate, and go into detail on how this rocks, and that rules - but I can't be bothered.
All I say is, this rocks. And that rules.
And the helicopters are just... woah.
Die ground troop mofos, eat my lead. And my aluminium, as I decide to try and guide my Huey towards them as I'm plummeting to the ground.
Anyone else got it?
I'll play as a Vietcong listening to 'American Woman' by Hendrix..
VietCong and US sides are pretty balanced, you also play as South Vietnamese too.. they're cool.
Weapons are balanced, US have it in the Air and Sea... though Vietcong do have some pretty sweet tanks!

American Woman, do nyung hang sei!
The Vietnam MiG's are crap, to be honest, best you could do with those would be a re-enactment of playing your Fisher Price "My First Guitar" for the first time...
I'll be a Vietcong sniper.
Then you'll see Communism really works.
Assault troops in the NVA get to choose between a rocket launcher and a mortar (I think) with only a 10 shot rifle as backup, while the US side get to choose from a rocket launcher or grenade launcher and have an M60 as their backup weapon, which is horrendously accurate. So accurate in fact that it even manages to out do many of the rifles you can get in the game.
Every server I join I'm forced to play as the NVA because the US side is always full, and it's always full of people who have chosen the assault class which makes them as deadly to vehicles as they are to infantry. They dominate pretty much all of the games I've played thus far, even when the NVA are on a winning streak the US can always plough through them with their over accurate M60 machine guns and whatever explosives they've chosen.
This, for me is ruining the game. It is a good game, and very fun if you can ignore the glaring flaws (which is difficult) but right now it's nowhere near as good as Battlefield 1942. I couldn't recommend this game at it's current state, I'd suggest waiting for the first patch when EA finally get of their ass and fix the problems that should have been fixed before the games release.
Oh and, Battlefield 2 is looking sweet, and strangely will be out in a years time. Hopefully that won't be as bug ridden.
It'd be great if true, Day of Defeat is a prime example of how weapons like machine guns should be used, you can fire from the hip when running but accuracy is all but diminished making the weapon impossible to fire properly, but set it when prone and it becomes an effective killing tool.
But with the amount of bugs the game has (and from the message board I've been too, there are allot of bugs) it'd be a pretty hefty download if true.
And while I'm at it, I'll take this time to say that EA's customer support is pretty much non-existent. They haven't bothered to reply to any of the posts listing problems on the official site and have only gone as far to post a massage, which basically reads, “fix the problems yourself". I'm going to be extra careful when it comes to EA games in the future.
