Having rented/soon to own Escape from Monkey Island, I am pretty (well, totally) new to this series, and there are a couple of jokes I feel should be funny but, well, aren't.

Could someone explain the significance of:

Porcelain
The mysterious houses in Melee that transport you across the road
Why everything is the "Secong biggest..."? What's the first?

Also, is there anything else I should know?

The mysterious houses in Melee that transport you across the road this is something that's been in every game isnce the first, guess they carried it on as a tradition, and maybe to help you get around a certain character later on.

Right ive played and completed all but the latest Monkey island games, i reckon monkey island 2 was the best, except for some of the puzzles, which were mad.

I think the biggest thing bit refers to games 2 where all the islands were in a competition to build the biggest monkey statue?? something like that anyway.

Not sure about the porcelin, give me a few days and i mihg teven dust off the amiga to have a look. I have to say though, respect to the chicken with the pully in the middle! lol, cheers

Guybrush Toothwood is the best computer character I have ever played. I first played him about 6 years ago when the very first Monkey Island came out.

Only time I have played as Guybrush Toothwood was in Indian Jones... cheat that made Harrison Ford lookalike turn into him and he fired a flying chicken from his bazzoka :D

Right. Well, I thought there might be a reason but obviously not.

I'm going to get the other 3 now I have more HDD space I think. I didn't before because I didn't have enough space and more importantly, I didn't know what the hell they were.

1 and 2 were great on my Amiga, although Im not sure that my PC can handle the new Monkey Island games as its only a 200Mhz PC with an old graphics card.

2 was the best then 1 then . I m not sure where to put 4 as I have only done part of it

Monke Island 2 is definitely the best!

That had replay value... for me anyway, I completed it when I was 4, but about 2 months ago my brother moved out so I got his computer. I started playing Monkey again and was soon stuck. It took me a month to complete it (and that was with Bonus' help!)
