I noticed that a lot of people have been talking about this game recently and I thought that it would be good to have your opinions of it. Lalakersrule says that he has clocked up 800 hours on it so either it is very very addictive or Lalakersrule is extremely sad. ;-) Anyway, I was looking through the latest issue of Official Playstation Two Magazine and I saw a preview of it and to my horror it only had a quarter of a page when GTA: San Andreas had six pages on it! So I looked down and saw why. 2D graphics!!! I know that it has sold millions in Japan and other countries but I never thought that it would have Two-dimesional graphics. I am not saying that graphics are the most important part of a game but I expected a game that had sold so well to have at least half-decent graphics for god's sake. But I still think that after so many good reviews there is quite a large chance of me buying it when it comes out over here.

So what do you guys think of it? I don't want people saying stuff like 'oh yeah, it sounds good'. I want people who have imported it to give me a first-hand review and help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Wakka.

Would be worth 400 quid mate :-D Well put it is this way if you like it as half as much as i do that's 400 hours right there of playtime very good value pound per gametime hour i would say :-D

I'm just worried that because i love it so much that everyone now has expectations of it being the best thing since sliced bread (which in my opinion it is) As long as you approach it with an open mind and willing to devote time to it then you won't be disappointed, 3-D graphics or no 3-d graphics

Well we all have our differing opinions. After having access to the american and japanese RPG releases which many European gamers have not i have alot more games to compare towards the FFX series. Xenosaga and Suikoden 3 are just 2 games i find better then FFX and it's sequel.

FFX was a good decent RPG but wasn't mindblowing, the story wasn't epic and the characters weren't making me want to play on to learn more about their stories. The only thing i liked was blitzball and FFX-2 ruined that.

Whether it's because i judge all FF games by 6, 7 and Tactic's standards and that's why i get dissapointed i don't know but to me FFX and it's cash in of a sequel don't rank anywhere near my top 5 RPG's the PS2 and i doubt would even get near my top 30 of all time.

First off this game does not have 'crap graphics' In my opinion i actually prefer the ingame characters in Disgaea over the supposed life like ones in FFX2. Just because it doesn't have flash FMV sequences doesn't make this any less of a game. Now as i said before i'm kind of strange when it comes to this as before back in the PSX day i actually preferred the sprite characters found in FF Tactics over the life like ones of FF8. Tactics had far less jaggies and overall just looked alot more smoother then 8. Whether it's because i prefer the cartoony look on my characters or not i actually prefer the Disgaea graphics and they are by no means less then half decent or crap.
