I'll go first:
1) I was 8. I used to hassle my mum for a glass of beer when they had one. She bought me a can of Special Brew and said if I drank it all, I could drink as often as I wanted.
I did drink it, and was so ill I didn't touch drink again until I was 14.

1) I was 8. I used to hassle my mum for a glass of beer when they had one. She bought me a can of Special Brew and said if I drank it all, I could drink as often as I wanted.
I did drink it, and was so ill I didn't touch drink again until I was 14.

I think I was about 13. My parents had a party and me and some mates smuggled a bottle of wine out into the garden to drink. I was told by my mum that at the end of the evening I was laying on the bathroom floor saying "never again" over and over. My parents have never really had a problem with me drinking when I was younger, as long as they were about.

In a pub or from a shop? From a shop I was probably 16, I bought it for a mates younger brother. In a pub I was just under 17.

I'll tell you this - the rest I am keeping a secret.
In my day you could not go in a pub if you were under 18. I was breathalised on my 18th birthday for pulling out in front of a Police car, while I was leaving the first pub on my birthday pub crawl. Fortunately I was only drinking half a pint of lager in each pub.
The first time I ever went in a pub I was 13 years old. They served with cider, possibly because I was wearing army uniform and carrying a Sten gun (yes a real one). Or maybe they felt sorry for me for camping in the wood when it was snowing!
