I've got an Xbox and a PC (obviously) but i want a router so i can go on both at the same time. Does anyone know where i can get one from for £20 or less?
Can you also use a switch or hub?

Let me make this easier to understand :

My Xbox and PC have the following cables :-

Xbox = Ethernet cable coming from my modem downstairs all the way to my room upstairs.

Computer = USB cable coming from my modem and to my PC

Can someone please find me a router for £30 or less, if it has to be, i'll go for a £40
one. It doesn't have to be wireless, do i just need the router or do i need anything else?

I dont have an ethernet card, i dont even think i have a decent network card. If all routers are ethernet, how do i connect my internet up as it runs through a USB cable.

A router would be ethernet only and usually has 4 ports for basic ones. Your looking at £40 at least for one that is any good.

If you dont mind having your PC on at the same time then use Internet Connection Sharing as mentioned below. You do need to make sure you have a ethernet card in your PC and that you get a crossover cable or have a XBox system link cable. Cheaper than a router especailly if you have all of the equipment already.

You might be able to get one off Ebay for £20. A switch/hub would not be sufficient, you need a router.

You can use Internet Connection Sharing, therefore no switch/router needed. Set your PC up as the host, and connect the network cable from the back of your PC to the Xbox providing your PC has a network card (Most motherboards have onboard ones nowadays). I think you can use both straight and a cross-over cables, however I'm not too sure. I know with the PS2 you can set it up for ICS, so I presume you can with the Xbox.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
