An elderly man woke up one morning and was about to have a shave. He picked up the razor and started shaving his beard while looking at the mirror. The man then put his glasses on only to see that he had an even bigger beard but not grey like it was before and he didn’t have glasses on anymore.

Yes he did take the elevator in the mornings, but only from the 8th floor to the ground floor. That's as far as it goes. You never said he took the stairs in the morning as well. Ha!
