Tottenham Hotspurs, commonly known as Spurs, are my favourite team and have been ever since I started watching football - I've supported them for over 15 years now, and I have never looked back or questioned my faith in the White Hart Lane teams. So, Spurs haven't been the most successful team in recent years, but that's no reason to change your support, but they have a prestigious history, winning many trophies and league titles - one of the most supported clubs in the world, and one of the richest, believe it or not. Now I feel we have a chance to move beyond mid table nothingness and achieve perhaps a European position - Glenn Hoddle has spent wisely, and we've just signed Christian Ziege from Liverpool, for a fee expected to be around the £6million mark.

So, Sol has left, but it's not the end of the world - I honestly think we'll do better without him, with all of our squad sharing the same target - it's more of a challenge here and that's why many players are being linked with a move to the best London club this side of Highbury. We have some fantastic players when you look at the team - Les Ferdinand is getting on, but he won player of the year in 1996, and can still score some amazing goals - Andrei
Schevchenko was linked with Spurs, but I very much doubt he'd sign, but we have the highest league scorer of last season, and players player of the season - Teddy Sheringham, signed from Man United, returns to his natural club where he can link up with Darren Anderton once more - another talented winger, who unfortunately always suffers from injury.

Steven Carr is one of the best right backs in the country, who scored an incredible goal last year - possible contender for goal of the season, Ben Thatcher should be in the England full squad, but is suffering from injury
still, Luke Young is another great who has a bright future ahead of him, Chris Perry - another player bought from Wimbledon has shown signs of immense improving, but our keeper is fantastic - Neil Sullivan is far superior to the granddad of a slick back hair cut Ian Walker. Gustavo Poyet
was one of Chelsea's most influential players last year, so despite his age I would say he will definitely be one of the best Spurs players next year. Steven Clemence is a superb left midfielder, who needs to improve his pace, but is the son of the great coaching Ray Clemence at the club.

Gary Doherty is a defender who can also play in attack - much like the Celtic striker Chris Sutton, and has recently been called up to the Irish national squad - he'll be making his claim for regular international duties. So, Spurs have a young defence, and an experienced strike force, but we cannot forget the likes of Chris Armstrong who signed from the plummeting Palace a few years back now, but in my opinion our most prized possession is the incredible Sergei Rebrov who will prove to be the fastest and most utilised striker at the club, hopefully he'll put more away this new season than the last!

So, with a decent squad of players, a whole new board of directors and no Alan Sugar wrecking things I would say Spurs fans can look forward to a brighter season, a much more positive outlook and a decent hope in the future in general. Glenn Hoddle is the right man for the job after a prosperous career at White Hart Lane, and he's got much managerial experience behind him too - as the England boss, getting us to the quarter finals and realising that Michael Owen and David Beckham were born and bred superstars in the making, and he's been at Chelsea too as a player manager,
then manager. David Pleat is still the director of football, and we've some excellent coaching staff, ground staff and scouts.

The stadium is fabulous. At around 38,000 in capacity the stadium is rarely anything less then 3/4 full, and is normally full to the brim. I have been there many times, and the atmosphere is awesome - not the largest of pitches, probably one of the smallest in the premiership (only by a yard or two), everything is compact, very well designed and has some excellent facilities. Wheel chair fans needn't worry as there are plenty of spaces available, with help at hand at all matches - the Spurs supporters can get very loud, cheering on their team, but they're also a nice bunch of people really, just frustrated at the lack of consistency and poor few seasons. Still, we're more than likely to finish top half, and we could always bring home the Worthington Cup, yet again - unless Liverpool actually want to retain it. Well built, White Hart Lane is a superb stadium and we rarely lose, or even concede a goal, in our home matches. Away games are a completely different story, but at least George Graham is out of here!

Rivalry and pride is another aspect of the Spurs - our fierce rivalry with Arsenal is probably the most recognised in the world of football, and we're always keen to put one over them in a match - I hope that with the departure of class act Sol Campbell will bring Spurs good fortune and that we kick their backside this season - both home and away! We're one of the most successful London clubs, but are striving to be as strong as Arsenal and Chelsea - and the Man United/Liverpool/Leeds of today.

I have been a Spurs fan all my life, and I can't wait to be laughing at the Gunner's fans for a change. This season will see a change, and I predict a 5th - 8th place finishing. I know many of you out there support the Spurs,
and I know many of you support the Arsenal, whoever your club is, I wish no one good luck other than the White Hart Lane squad (we're the only ones that need it!).

Thanks for reading, tell me what you think!!!

Ah well, why have Spurs signed our number 3 keeper?

I know! Sadly, Rebrov has said that he does not see himself at Tottenham in the future, unless they get into the Champions League. So of course, this means he will be leaving the club as Tottenham will not get into the Champions League this season!

You have got a few good points there about Blackburn, but the fact is that Tottenham are a lot better and that is something that they will prove this season as we will beat you and finish higher than you in the league.

We have got a great goalkeeper in Neil Sullivan. He is an excellent shot stopper and as long as our defence is good next season, we won't concede as many goals as Blackburn.

We have lost Sol Campbell to Arsenal, but our defence is still impressive and young, so this means that they can work together for a few years and then become very good as a unit. Players like Doherty, Young, Gardner, King and Thelwell are all young and quite experienced.

Our midfield has imprived from last season as we have signed a great player in Poyet. He will score us more goals from midfield and so as a team, Tottenham shouls core more goals than they did last season.

Our strikers are very impressive. Rebrov didn't have the best of seasons last year, but he will do better this year as we now have Sheringham. He may be in his thirties, but we have signed a player of the year, last season, and we have also got Ferdinand and Iverson, who are also great players.

Tottenham - Better than Blackburn

Tottenham won't have to worry about teams like them for much longer because you'll probably be relegated and have to face the trip to Grimsby and Millwall in 2002/2003!!!

Blackburn destroyed Derby in the 5th round of the FA Cup 5-1 at pride park, so I don't know what you're on about! I'll be going to Ewood Park on the 22nd of August, which reminds me I need to buy tickets, as I am going to see Blackburn BEAT Manchester United, hopefully.

Our squad is amazing:

Here's the strikeforce alone!

Matt Jansen - one of the best young strikers in the country, Matt vowed to get back into the top flight and with the second highest tally in division one last year his promise was delivered.

Nathan Blake - forget his own goal for Wales, he can find the right net sometimes too. He's quick, his an amazingly powerful shot and will hopefully be encouraged to stay.

MARCUS BENT! What a player, he scored the winner at Watford last season - stunning game to watch live, don't like the Watford crowd though. Great header of the ball, flick like finishes and superb pace

Mark Hughes - experience is handy, especially when you score twice on your debut - top player, incredible volleyer, oh and he's the Wales manager?

Egil Ostenstad - swapped him for the useless £7.5million Kevin Davies, and he scored more in one game than fat Kev did in the whole season. Top quality striker, he won't even get a look in though!

Corrado Grabbi - came from a Serie B Italian side after rejecting offers from the top league Italian giant clubs. Amazing potential, it's about time we bought someone with a bit of flair!

We have a sensational set of keepers - with the number one spot being filled by the talented American Brad Friedel, with Alan Kelly and John Filan fighting it out to try and get into the contention for first team regular football. Brad is very fast, agile and has a great shot stopping ability.

Defence wise we're also damn good, with Henning Berg providing experience, the young John Curtis showing why he's capable of more than a Man United reserve, Marlon Broomes - fantastic young player, hope he gets first team football all the season, Martin Taylor - saved the day for us last season, scoring a winner, another player coming thru the youth academy - Blackburn's is the best in the country, we also have the brilliant Stig Inge Bjornabe as well as many more youthful players.

David Dunn is probably the best Blackburn player, as the England U21 captain he's got a superb future ahead of him - strong and has pace, this young player is another result of the incredible youth academy at Blackburn. Damien Duff, the Irish international, has skills that better most players in the world, honestly - watch him play - he's amazing. We've just signed the brilliant Alan Mahon, who was on loan at Ewood for the last half of the season, and he'll become a firm crowd favourite for sure.

We've the dosile, but occasionally brilliant Jason McAteer, Kieth Gillespe and more. Gordan Greer also looks to put in a claim for 1st team football, having been the first summer signing for the club.

Blackburn will not get relegated, put those thoughts away!

We'll finish higher than you!

Graeme Souness comands respect and players want to play for him, which is why many superb players have joined the club and we're getting more. Hopefully Tugay will get his work permit sorted, and we'll be ready for you come 22nd of August (Man United), with our first game against Derby on the 18th I think.

Playing Barca on the 12th of August - should be a cracking game to watch, I doubt we'll win, but I'd recommend watching it!!

Thanks

Dan

Quite a few well known players in the Blackburn squad...Oh Wait...No there isn't! Tottenham have got a much better squad with more experienced players, as well as having a lot of young talent. Quite a few of the young players played a lot for Tottenham last season and so they probably have improved since then and so Tottenham will be a much better team. Blackburn will find it hard to beat the likes of Derby County and Charlton where as Tottenham wouldn't have to worry about matches against the likes of them!

Fighting for relegation? We walked the second half of the season in division one - we are a Premiership side with fantastic players, players that are far more talented than your Spurs team!!!

I honestly forsee us finishing at least 4 places higher than you. Did you know Blackburn had the best second half of a season in England last season?

Excellent.

Matt Jansen, Mark hughes, Corrado Grabbi, Egil Ostenstad, Nathan Blake - they'll all be aiming right at Neil Sullivan when they shoot because he'll be so scared of the shot, he'll dive out the way.

Blackburn may have won the premierhsip before, but they will be fighting for relegation, most of the season and so I don't think we will have to worry about you!

Despite your brilliant dedication to Spurs, I have to say that you are completely insane if you think Spurs will finish 5th - 8th! I am a Blackburn supporter - always have been always will be, and that's the way it should be, but I don't think that the team can suddenly go from 12th or 13th to possible European placing?

Blackburn stand a better chance - we have some amazing young talent at the club, and a decent defence. I'd say we'll thrash Spurs at Ewood Park.
