So, Sol has left, but it's not the end of the world - I honestly think we'll do better without him, with all of our squad sharing the same target - it's more of a challenge here and that's why many players are being linked with a move to the best London club this side of Highbury. We have some fantastic players when you look at the team - Les Ferdinand is getting on, but he won player of the year in 1996, and can still score some amazing goals - Andrei
Schevchenko was linked with Spurs, but I very much doubt he'd sign, but we have the highest league scorer of last season, and players player of the season - Teddy Sheringham, signed from Man United, returns to his natural club where he can link up with Darren Anderton once more - another talented winger, who unfortunately always suffers from injury.
Steven Carr is one of the best right backs in the country, who scored an incredible goal last year - possible contender for goal of the season, Ben Thatcher should be in the England full squad, but is suffering from injury
still, Luke Young is another great who has a bright future ahead of him, Chris Perry - another player bought from Wimbledon has shown signs of immense improving, but our keeper is fantastic - Neil Sullivan is far superior to the granddad of a slick back hair cut Ian Walker. Gustavo Poyet
was one of Chelsea's most influential players last year, so despite his age I would say he will definitely be one of the best Spurs players next year. Steven Clemence is a superb left midfielder, who needs to improve his pace, but is the son of the great coaching Ray Clemence at the club.
Gary Doherty is a defender who can also play in attack - much like the Celtic striker Chris Sutton, and has recently been called up to the Irish national squad - he'll be making his claim for regular international duties. So, Spurs have a young defence, and an experienced strike force, but we cannot forget the likes of Chris Armstrong who signed from the plummeting Palace a few years back now, but in my opinion our most prized possession is the incredible Sergei Rebrov who will prove to be the fastest and most utilised striker at the club, hopefully he'll put more away this new season than the last!
So, with a decent squad of players, a whole new board of directors and no Alan Sugar wrecking things I would say Spurs fans can look forward to a brighter season, a much more positive outlook and a decent hope in the future in general. Glenn Hoddle is the right man for the job after a prosperous career at White Hart Lane, and he's got much managerial experience behind him too - as the England boss, getting us to the quarter finals and realising that Michael Owen and David Beckham were born and bred superstars in the making, and he's been at Chelsea too as a player manager,
then manager. David Pleat is still the director of football, and we've some excellent coaching staff, ground staff and scouts.
The stadium is fabulous. At around 38,000 in capacity the stadium is rarely anything less then 3/4 full, and is normally full to the brim. I have been there many times, and the atmosphere is awesome - not the largest of pitches, probably one of the smallest in the premiership (only by a yard or two), everything is compact, very well designed and has some excellent facilities. Wheel chair fans needn't worry as there are plenty of spaces available, with help at hand at all matches - the Spurs supporters can get very loud, cheering on their team, but they're also a nice bunch of people really, just frustrated at the lack of consistency and poor few seasons. Still, we're more than likely to finish top half, and we could always bring home the Worthington Cup, yet again - unless Liverpool actually want to retain it. Well built, White Hart Lane is a superb stadium and we rarely lose, or even concede a goal, in our home matches. Away games are a completely different story, but at least George Graham is out of here!
Rivalry and pride is another aspect of the Spurs - our fierce rivalry with Arsenal is probably the most recognised in the world of football, and we're always keen to put one over them in a match - I hope that with the departure of class act Sol Campbell will bring Spurs good fortune and that we kick their backside this season - both home and away! We're one of the most successful London clubs, but are striving to be as strong as Arsenal and Chelsea - and the Man United/Liverpool/Leeds of today.
I have been a Spurs fan all my life, and I can't wait to be laughing at the Gunner's fans for a change. This season will see a change, and I predict a 5th - 8th place finishing. I know many of you out there support the Spurs,
and I know many of you support the Arsenal, whoever your club is, I wish no one good luck other than the White Hart Lane squad (we're the only ones that need it!).
Thanks for reading, tell me what you think!!!
Neil Sullivan
Neil Sullivan is currently Tottenham's No. 1 goalkeepr, as well as being the Scottish No. 1 goalkeeper. He is about 30 years old but he is still a great player and a great shot stopper. He was signed by Tottenham on a Free Transfer from Wimbledon, last summer, and he was voted player of the year for Tottenham last season, which was a great achievement for him in his first season at the club.
Stephen Carr
Stephen Carr is one of the best right wing backs in Britain and this isn't a supirse because he has been playing some excellent football for both club and country over the past few years. He has always played for Tottenham and although he has said that he might have to move clubs if he wants to achive things, I reckon that he will stay at the club for at least a few more years as he loves the club. He will be a definite first team regular this season, if he stays injury free. He is also a player who can score some amazing goals.
Chris Perry
Chris Perry signed for Tottenham a few season ago from Wimbledon, for a fee of around 5 million pounds. He is a very reliable defender but he has been known to make some mistakes in games, allowing the opposition to score goals from them. Anyway, I think he will be at the heart of the Tottenham defence this season and hopefully he will not make stupid mistakes.
Goran Bunjevcevic
Goran Bunjevcevic is a new signing from Read Star and he has been signed for a fee of around 2 million pounds. He is supposed to be a good tackler, as well as being a good passer of the ball and I think this could help Tottenham to build up attacks from their defence because if he gets the ball and can play some decent passes to team players, Tottenham could score a few goals from it.
Gary Doherty
Last season, Gary Doherty had to play in defence and as a striker in quite a few games because of the injury problems Tottenham had. He played as a stiker for a few games and did quite well, but he didn't score. He was then put in defence and he scored 3 goals in his first 2 games, which was quite suprising. He can play in both positions but Glenn Hoddle has said that he wants Doherty to play in defence because he thinks it is his best position and I agree.
Christian Ziege
Christian Ziege has not quite joined Tottenham although about 95% of the deal has been done with Liverpool. He should be a Tottenham player within the next few days and so this is why I have decided to gamble with him and say that he is a Tottenham player. He is a left footed player and this is what Tottenham have needed for a few years now. Hoddle wants him to play on the left side of midfield and I think this will do a lot of good for the club as Tottenham might be able to score more goals form the left side. He is about 30 years old but he is an experienced player and will bring some quality to the side.
Steffen Iversen
Steffen Iversen is a striker and apart form last season, he had been the leading goalscorer for Tottenham for a few season running. He was injured a lot last season and so I think he only scored about 4 goals for the club. AS I said, he is a striker but I reckon that Glenn Hoddle should play him on the right side of midfield and then play Sheringham and Rebrov upfront. Iversen is a great player when at his best and so he should be in Hoddle's first 11.
Darren Anderton
Darren Anderton, known to many as 'sick note', is a great player, but he has been unable to show his abilty over the past few years as he has been injured for many long periods of time. Before he was getting injured a lot, he was playing some excellent football but it had been said he was going to leave the club this summer. But luckily, he has signed a new deal and hopefully, he can be fit for most of next season and help Tottenham do a lot better than what they have been doing recently.
Gustavo Poyet
Gustavo Poyet is a new summer signing by Glenn and I think he will be a great asset to the squad as he is an experienced player who is still very good. He is an attacking midfield sort of player and I think that he will score quite a few goals this season. In his first game for the club, a friendly, he scored a hattrick and hopefully, he can do this a few times in the premierhsip.
Teddy Sheringham
Teddy Sheringham is back at the club he left 5 years ago, after signing on a free transfer from Man United. He is 33 years old but that didn't stop him from being the player of the year last season and so hopefully he can do as well as he did for United, with Tottenham. When he last played for Tottenham, all of the fans loved him as he was a great player at the club and he was scoring quite a few goals. The Tottenham fans will want to see him score many goals for the club again as well as be the provider of many goals for the club.
Sergei Rebrov
Sergei Rebrov became the most expensive player at Tottenham last season when he signed for the club in an 11 million pound deal. He is a really good player but he wasn't at his best for much of last season and so hopefully he will show the Tottenham fans what he is really capable of this season. He is quite small but he is a very skillful player and he can also score many goals. I think if Heddle has Rebrov and Sheringham upfront together, they will be able to cause a lot of damage to other teams asI think they can form a great partnership. It had been said that Rebrov wanted to quit the club, but Rebrov cleared things up by saying he loves playing for Tottenham!

Why are you still going on about Shevchenko? We finished talking about him in the topic that said 'Andrei Shevchenko'. We all know he won't sign for Spurs!
If he wasn't he would not of been sold by AC Milan or Liverpool.
Well he suits the Spurs, another no hoper to add to the collection at Spurs.
Sven would be having a laughing fit if you told him that. Please tell me you are joking!
He is Pants!
He was Pants at Wimbledon and is still Pants at Spurs.
Although he would be a great Welsh International!

By new players I mean big name signings, not some crappy defender by the name of kshevnickochski or some other average player. We need big names, Shevchenko would have been a start but that feel through.
Tottenham could get these players. Just offer them extortionate wages and they will come running. Everyone knows when a footballer says he has more ambition than the club and wants to leave it is just because someone offered him more cash.
;-p
