I'm totally uninformed about what it is. Is it just a funky way of linking your DX up with a friends with no wires, or is it like some funky ass online gaming system with no wires and no need for broadband connections and crap like that?

Programming the touch screen as a an analogue simulator as been suggested, but will Nintendo do it?

The Wi-Fi thing seems very Japanese to me. I bet they're all over the place over there.
And in Japan you could probably actually use the local-range connection thing as well. What are the chance of someone owning a DS being within 100ft of you over here?

Yes ... no analogue. What's that about?
I thought both new ickle machines had the problem, but it turns out PSP actually has a nifty analogue stick in the corner.

I think a whole new re-design of the DS, so it has a analogue controller and actually looks nice would do the trick.
Ugly mo-fo.

Also all centrino laptops or laptops with wi fi cards can gain hi speed internet access at "hotspots". These are set up at places like starbucks airports train stations etc. Some you have to pay for per hour though.

Basically, I have a Radio Network in my house, connected to a broadband router. So if I had a DS, it could access the internet.

What Nintendo will make of this remains to be seen...

But no analogue?!?! :'(

Ok sorry if someones already posted this but im quite an expert with wi fi.
Wi fi is the fancy name for the new-ish 802.11 wireless networking standard. This is used as the main wireless utilitity for things such as networking, streaming music around the house, ad soon video although not smooth video yet.
The latest wifi is 802.11g this has transfer speeds of up tp 54mbps this is fast becoming the most popular as it is backwards compatible with older versions.
The older more popular but soon to be 2nd most popular is 802.llb i think this is 11mbps not to sure.
Wifi has a very long range when in comparison to bluetooth (a wireless technology used in phones and PDAs and the wirles multiplayer behind the n-gage) bluetooth is 10m wifi is as far as i know at least ten times that not sure about that though.
Is the DS gunna have wifi? sorry havent had a ninty mage for over a year.,.......

I hear you. Stupid machine. I did manage to master the Stunt Driver game using the jog dial though. I just pressed the on-screen buttons with my thumb. The P800 had a good concept, but executed it poorly.
