Well you've heard the news, Sega and Sammy are coming together "to be the largest entertainment company"
Head over to Cube-Europe for the news, or click here: http://www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=6537

Dringo already left a Comment:
"Oh dear, I hope SEGA have a large say in all of this...

After all Sammy do not like Nintendo."

So, who the hell is Sammy!?

A: Super Monkey Ball 3 has developed a serious fan base on the Nintendo system thusly any future SMB title would be a Nintendo one or risk losing the fan base.

B: You are trying to tell me the skies team have spent the last 4 years developing 2 ports?

C: Again Phantasy Star has a fan base on the Cube, might not be exclusive but will be on the Cube.

Here is a list of SEGA exclusives that have been made for the Cube:

Pyuo Pop Fever - Sonic Team
Phantasy Star Online V1 and 2 - Sonic Team
Phantasy Star online 3 - Sonic Team
Sonic Adventure DX - Sonic Team
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - Sonic Team
Sonic Mega Collection - Sonic Team
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg - Sonic Team
F Zero GX - Amusement Vision
Super Monkey Ball - Amusement Vision
Super Monkey Ball 2 - Amusement Vision

How many brand new Sonic Team games were there? 1, a game called Sonic DS. What about Amusement Vision? Nothing shown at E3.

Stop worrying... take the positive from the show, Amazing Island is from Smilebit and Virtual Fighter Quest is from AM2.... 2 SEGA devision who had previously mad NO Gamecube titles.

In terms of quality, I mean.

That's why the few games they have planned is enough for me.

Phantasy Star Universe isn't confirmed for any console yet, never mind a Cube exclusive.
Skies of Arcadia isn't even in development, the team are working on a Jap PC port of the original. And if it ever does, who says it'll be exclusive?
Monkey Ball 3 has yet to be announced, if it is even started development, if it ever will.

Enough exclusives from Sega for you?

To be fair, Sega are nothing to what they once were.

So now Nintendo barely, not barley, selling anything is now something other than something to be worried about?

> SEGA barley showed any games full stop

I'm no expert, but IGN claim they showed:

Altered Beast (PS2)
Amazing Island (Cube)
Astro Boy (PS2)
Astro Boy: Omega Factor (GBA)
Blood Will Tell: Osamu Tezuka's Dororo (PS2)
ESPN College Hoops 2005 (PS2, Xbox)
ESPN NBA 2005 (PS2, Xbox)
ESPN NFL 2005 (PS2, Xbox)
ESPN NHL 2005 (PS2, Xbox)
Headhunter: Redemption (PS2, Xbox)
Otogi 2 (Xbox)
Puyo Pop Fever (Cube)
SEGA SuperStars (PS2).
The Matrix Online (PC)
Virtua Quest(tm) (Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2)
ESPN NFL 2005 (Xbox, PS2)
ESPN NHL 2005 (Xbox, PS2)
ESPN NBA 2005 (Xbox, PS2)
ESPN College Hoops 2005 (Xbox, PS2)

They didn't mention Phantasy Star Universe as this was a surprise (and consoles have yet tba), but it's not 'hardly any games'. Now true, there you have Virtua Quest, a worthy title. But what else? Amazing Island and Puyo Pop Fever? I have no idea what Amazing Island is but Puyo Pop is that puzzle thing that looks absolute shat.

Or that they aren't making stuff exclusive anymore. Reason? Now Sammy's come along, I heard all the teams are getting mixed around again (remember how Skies of Arcadia's team Overworks merged with another).

Sodding hell those sales figures aren't anything to be worried about, did you see how totally ridiculous they were? Microsoft outselling the PS2 and Nintendo barley selling anything?

It was just a weird months, with odd releases with nothing being shown by Nintendo, hardly anything to count on.

SEGA barley showed any games full stop, bar of course the mention of Phantasy Star and showed Virtual Fighter Quest and Amazing Island, which, if I remember correctly, are both games for a Nintendo console.

Sure they showed a few more for the PS2 than normal, but it is hardly worth worrying about considering the SEGA developers that make Exclusive Gamecube titles (Amusement Vision and Sonic Team) didn't actually show anything for the home console market at all, indiciating that they didn't have anything ready.

You said that Sammy might learn to like Nintendo. That is groundless because there is nothing to suggest this will ever happen. There's "other possibilities" than the original scenario, then there is groundless fantasy :P What about the one where Sega has cut down Cube support. Look at the mountains of games they showed for the Cube at E3. Look at the missing Monkey Ball 3.

You said you're always pessimistic about the loss of 3rd parties, (bar Acclaim.. despite the brilliant Burnout 2). Oh, and you forgot to mention Factor 5, which if I remember rightly you said was no loss. Hmm. But we haven't lost a 3rd Party. Yet. Sega is withdrawing support to an extent, but I doubt it'll go.

And just because Nintendo were around at the beginning of it all, and they're still around today is no guarantee they'll still be around in ten years time. Look at them today, they're a shadow of what they were. Have you seen the latest US sales figues?

Considering I started the original and most likely. pessemistic response (read the main post) then you'd realise that it's alright to see the other possibilities.

Get over it tphi, I love it when I get a response from you...

Bonus may have weird views but they are difficult to argue with no matter how much I disagree, he is a challenge. Turbonutter is a challenge, Strafio's Gaming beliefs are a challenge... and Tilt, when we occasionally disagree, is also a challenge.

You meanwhile are not.

I am well aware this could be a disaster for Nintendo (and all consoles) I said that to start with, but it could spin lucky and change Nintendo's fortunes for the better. Don't count your chickens.

I'm always pessemistic about the loss of third parties (bar Acclaim, how I cried tears of joy when they pulled support) and I'm even slightly concerned about the PSP (a more recent development meanwhile).

I just tend to agree with Nintendo who have years of experience rather than a bunch of 18 year old gaming fantatics on a forum (me included).

Nintendo were there during the introduction of consoles, Nintendo were there were handhelds were formed, Nintendo were there during the formation of 2D classics, Nintendo were there at the birth of the Playstation, Nintendo were there at the beginning of 3D gaming, Nintendo were there at the death of the Dreamcast, Nintendo were there when Microsoft appeared, Nintendo were there when online gaming took hold.

Nintendo ARE STILL HERE.

Faith is all they ask.
