On the Nintendo front. It seems after a mad blast if sweet titles everything has suddenly died a painful death for the time being. E3 was decent but that doesn't make up for a lack of releases in the mean time. I have scanned through the titles to be released however all the main ones are the back end of this year with the possible exception ofPikmin2which will hopefully be brought forward.

Haven't played my Cube since completing Metal Gear: Twin Snakes with LIVE and Ninja Gaiden taking up most of the playing time. My current Cube collection is pretty much complete with very little to nothing else worth getting at the moment, possibly Mario Golf will be my next purchase when they finally release it this summer.

So if anyone can enlighten me on decent release in the meantime I would much oblige.

Cheers!

I wouldnt want it to launch head to head.. and I can't see it happening. Both companies would know it would take out some of each other's fanfare.

Here's something.

Nintendo DS is now scheduled for a supposed March 18th launch in the European region - which will put it head to head against the PSP if true.

Furthermore, the following first party titles will supposedly be available at launch.

Animal Crossing DS
Mario Kart DS
Metroid: Hunters
Super Mario Bros. Game
Nintendogs
Pictochat
Super Mario 64x4
WarioWare DS

But the GBA SP did wonderful... they got a late sales surge...

If Wind Waker, Prime, Viewtiful Joe and Kart turned out to be naff then it was a bad year.

But they didn't, they were all superb and all of them are in my top 10 favourite Gamecube titles... along with Soul Calibur 2 also released last year (Pikmin, Harvest Moon, Sunshine, Timesplitters and Eternal Darkness make up the others)....

A wonderful year filled with great software.

Well to be honest that shouldn't really bother you.

That's Nintendo's problem. And the sales surge at the end of the year made up for it.

I meant sales-wise.

Yes, it was a great year for games, but, as far as sale go, it wasn't the revolution i was hoping for.

So the release of 3 AAA titles of metroid Prime, Zelda and Mario KArt was dissapointing? Not to mention the wonderful 1080, F Zero GX, Wario World, Resident Evil 0 etc.. etc..

This year? Pikmin 2, Four Swords, Donkey Konga, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario 2 (probably), Metroid Prime 2 (confirmed) and Geist all set for the end of the year.

This is the point Tilt. Nintendo have a MASSIVE problem with third parties. You see games like True Crime, Tony Hawks, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Driv3r, Hitman: Contracts etc... are great. But us Nintendo fans don't tend to buy them, we wait for the Nintendo equilivant or the nearest Nintendo game if we can't afford it. The only third party titles that enjoy success on the Gamecube are from developers that the hardcore fan base really respect (Ubi-soft and free Radical) or the children's games. It was a clear stratagy from Nintendo this year to allow the third parties to shine, Konami's Metal Gear Solid, Square's Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Natsume's Harvest Moon etc... are all titles released this year. All third parties.

This way for the first half of the year the third party developers will reap profits from the Gamecube and possible persuade them to launch more exclusives.

But as I've said there is a stupid amount of Nintendo games for September onwards such as Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Pikmin 2, Donkey Konga, Paper Mario 2, Geist and Four Swords.

I can get on Live today, mon ami.

I don't fancy any of the co-op, thouh, but some good old fashioned team deathmatch...
