Tomb Raider is the number one film in the UK.
The film made 3.8 million on its first weekend in UK cinemas.
Shrek dropped to number two, followed by Evolution and Pearl Harbor.
Bridget Jones's Diary continues to attract UK cinemagoers. It has now taken over 40 million in the UK alone, making it only the sixth film in history to reach that mark.
Titanic, The Full Monty, Star Wars Episode 1:The Phantom Menace, Jurassic Park and Toy Story 2 are the only other films to have passed 40 million in the UK.

Pretty poor considering TR took $48 million in the US on its first weekend!
I know we're a smaller country, but... sheesh!
Thing is, is it good? Most reviews have said it's not much cop, possibly why less people saw it over here?
Also, don't forget that there are a considerable number of more people (that doesn't seem to make sense...) in the US, hence more people to got to the cinema -> more money taken by the cinema's.

I saw it in the US and loved it - a definite DVD purchase for me.
So I'll treat that comment with the contempt it deserves, and which you were no doubt expecting! :-)
There must be quite a few stupid people about though who still saw it....
