"what is a blog?"

i am reletively new to the whole internet thing (laptop for Xmas) Not sure about a couple of things:

can I go on to more than one web page at a time eg. if i am watching something on e-bay can i minimise that and look at something else?

what is a blog? - someone asked me if i had one. are they just like an on-line diary? Can anyone see it? What are the advantges of doing one?

would appreciate it if someone can answer these for me - feel a bit of a dunse.

well you can observe all you like. No, i do have a personality and if I chose to go into chat rooms that is up to me. I thought maybe it would be a good way to talk to people. Working full time and having a young son makes it hard to socialise.

Generally this one is but there is always some jumped-up little ego-monkey looking to make themselves feel better by picking on an easy target.
Amanda, if you come across someone you dont like, there should be an ignore button by their name. Click it and they'll disappear.
