Well erm, Hello again.

Remember me? The Xbox fanboy who sold his Xbox for a PC, "gamezfreak", the guy who had continous arguements with Tiltawhirl/Maverick42/Dringo about how "gay the gaycube" is, then went out and bought one?

Well after living without the console for about 7 months, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, the Xbox was one beastly piece of kit, and I want it back. I'm bored of the PC gaming world, I'm actually running a linux system at the moment, so I generally don't play PC games anymore.

So this is where the Xbox comes in, to give me something to play games on.

PC = Linux, Programming, Movie editing, Website editing etc
Xbox for gaming.

Being so long away from the console, I am really unsure as to "what is what" nowadays, what games are "in" at the moment?

Has Halo 2 come out yet?

Give me some reccomendations and stuff, yeah, I want some inspiration and motivation to go out and purchase the machine.

Can the Xbox play VCD's by any chance?

Just a straight through ethernet cable and that's it. Well apart from the setting the account up bit.

I'm thinking of getting a cheap second hand one, living on a student budget is not exactly easy!

I'm definatly wiring the 'box up to Live! I've already got a 4 port router, so it's all good aye?

It depends what type of games you like gamezfreak. If you like FPS or racing the Xbox is the only way to go. A selection from different genres would be:

Halo
PGR2
ESPN NHL Hockey
Star Wars KOTOR
Rainbow Six 3
Crimson Skies
Jet Set Radio Future

I would definitely recommend Live as well if you have broadband.

If Halo 2 was out, do you think I'd be here?

Project Gotham Racing 2
Rallisport Challenge 2
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Rainbow Six 3
Counter-Strike (A 'love/hate' game - rent it first)
Crimson Skies (Plane flying, dogfight game - another love/hate)

November 9th

See above. And get Live (if it interests you). It's the best online gaming network for a console evah.

Nope, sorry.

Just grab one with PGR2, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Rainbow Six 3. Will keep you decent both on and offline for a long time. If like me you still use the PC for games like Thief 3 which are technically superior on the PC platform then you can't go wrong with the 3 titles I mentioned.

Tis becoming a decent console for RPG's as well although I presume you have played the likes of KOTOR on the PC or what not.

LIVE is decent as well, different to PC gaming but it's worth having both platforms online.

Aside from that you probably know pretty much everything else.

Get Xbox Live if you do get an Xbox.

Then get Rainbow Six 3 : Black Arrow.

Then get Halo 2 when it comes out (November 9th)

Then add me to your friends list.

:-)
