Remember me? The Xbox fanboy who sold his Xbox for a PC, "gamezfreak", the guy who had continous arguements with Tiltawhirl/Maverick42/Dringo about how "gay the gaycube" is, then went out and bought one?
Well after living without the console for about 7 months, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, the Xbox was one beastly piece of kit, and I want it back. I'm bored of the PC gaming world, I'm actually running a linux system at the moment, so I generally don't play PC games anymore.
So this is where the Xbox comes in, to give me something to play games on.
PC = Linux, Programming, Movie editing, Website editing etc
Xbox for gaming.
Being so long away from the console, I am really unsure as to "what is what" nowadays, what games are "in" at the moment?
Has Halo 2 come out yet?
Give me some reccomendations and stuff, yeah, I want some inspiration and motivation to go out and purchase the machine.
Can the Xbox play VCD's by any chance?
Going to set up Live today or tomorrow so Ill post here when I get my tag, though Ive barely played much yet so I'll get slaughtered!

Well when you do, pop it in the Live thread to get added to the big sheet.

Glad to hear that, I'd been looking at it and it OK reviews from Gamespot etc, but I did like the look of it. Plus with me being crap at RS3 now, I need something else. Might pick it up.
Gamestation sells them 99.99 but they usually have no box/instructions.
Other than eBay I don't know, trouble with eBay is people will hit you for stupid postage rates on Xbox consoles most of the time because of their weight.

I know Driver 3 isn't going to be the best gamer "evah!!!" but the review in PSM2 magazine suggests it is quite good.
But I've just read (this morning) the feature in Electronic Gaming Monthly (US mag you can get in WHSmiths) and they're rather less enthusiastic than the UK press about this game. Also OPS2 magazine should have had a review this latest issue but there is no mention of it, nor has the new OXM got a review, or Edge....which makes me wonder if PSM2 didn't review it at something like a free bar at E3 and that Atari know they have a stinker on their hands so are keeping it safely out of the clutches of the gaming press. On the other hand many games recently have been great but just came out before they were reviewed, and some stuff which got less than brilliant reviews, like Drakengard on PS2, I've liked.
It's costing me 31.99 including delivery, so if I hate it I'll play it a week then trade it in, I'll get £23 for it at Gamestation or Blockbuster at the worst.
I've got a Live starter kit (traded a few bits into SR Notts for it) but haven't signed up yet - I'll be getting a new gamer tag because I wasn't too keen on the old one. Waiting for GAME to delivery Pandora Tomorrow and Rainbow Six 3 in case one of them has a Live trial card in it.
By the way, Shadow Ops Red Mercury is absolutely brilliant, it's really intense going and even on normal difficulty it's an all our firefight nearly all the time, for a game I've heard little of it's fantastic.
So have you reactivated your Live account? Star Fury if I remember rightly?
As of yet, I've never played GR:IT on Live. I'd also consider getting XIII if I were you, seriously cool.
Why?
Main reasons were; Full Spectrum Warrior, Xbox Live (before I didnt play online much but since selling last time I've been hammering PC online shooters), Sudekia *dribble*, Silent Scope's sniper rifle, and loads more.
Spent the whole day in Nottingham carting my Gamecube collection around various places trading it all in for stuff or cash, got pretty good deal.
I've gone from having:
Black Gamecube
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Star Wars Rogue Leader 2
Resident Evil
Eternal Darkness
Zelda Wind Waker
Splinter Cell
Sonic Heroes
Wave Race
Ikaruga
Skies Of Arcadia
PN03
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil 2
Mario Kart DD
Viewtiful Joe
Super Monkey Ball 2
To;
Xbox
Scart Cable
Halo
Dead Or Alive Volleyball
Ninja Gaiden
Splinter Cell
Ghost Recon
Ghost Recon Island Thunder
Project Gotham Racing 2
Counter Strike
Silent Scope Complete + sniper rifle light gun
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Deus Ex Invisible War
and with the cash I've preordered Full Spectrum Warrior, Driver 3 and bought Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Rainbow Six 3 (32.99 for the two brand new).
I am happy :D
Might start posting a bit more on these forums now, I'm just not gonna bother with Life forum 'cause that'll just start arguments again, and besides they have Forest Fan now.
I'm going to go and look for a job, Start saving for a car, and maybe put a little aside for a 'box.
