Mine is HEAT. Absolutely fantastic. Brilliantly directed, never boring and a great cast. Unfortunately, the ending isn't as great as it could have been. Still the best film ever though.
"2nd rule about fight club, you must not talk about fightclub"
Fightclub and the Matrix are my fave movies of the last few years. Going back a few more years my faves would be Leon and Shawshank redemption.
My fave is probably Leon.
I love the Matrix for it's photography and intriguing plot.
I love Star Wars, because it captivates good storytellin' in a futuristic manner.
I love Apocalypse Now...
I love Pulp Fiction...
There are too many films.
But maybe, just maybe, I could say Fight Club as my favourite ever film. It is quite original and moves very well. Yes, I love Fight Club.
The film is about a guy who searches for the man who assaulted and killed his wife. The problem is that he can't remember anything for more than 5 minutes. The film could have so easily been a comedy but luckily it stayed away from the tempting and infectious Hollywood fungus that has destroyed so many potential great films. Like all great movies the script is important, but Memento is very very special, ever since The Usual Suspects no film has made me work so hard during and after the film. The director keeps you thinking, oh he did, no she is connected no it's him, no it's him. Fandabitasic.
Backwards goes it that is film the of masterpiece the but. In doing so we become the character Leonard Shelby, we know everything that he knows. Directors can direct the film so the audience can relate to the characters or really care for them but when was the last time you became the character? The film is juicing with inspiration.
All I could cay is that the film is rich in material (he tattoos imslf to remember info to the killer- but he keeps on forgetting- ha), the directing could not be better and the acting was great with the Mstrix star Cypher (Joe Pantoliano) and Trinity (Carrie Ann Moss) showing everyone that they are not just punches' 'n' kicks.
This film is 100% accomplished and deserves everything that's been said about it and then some. But one question remains. Where the hell is the DVD?
