Okay, so I know this isn't exactly original but I'm curious as to what your favourite film is. No, I'm not talking to THEM, I'm talking specifically to YOU. So, what is your favourite film?

Mine is HEAT. Absolutely fantastic. Brilliantly directed, never boring and a great cast. Unfortunately, the ending isn't as great as it could have been. Still the best film ever though.

Just to clear things up, I was just making a genberal point. I tend to visit the Curzon cinema more than any other cinema, even though I have a UGC annual pass. I like to think that I watch a wide variety of film be short, foreign, indie or the Hollywood blockbuster but I knew nothing about it till a friend toild me about it. I didn't see an advert for ir in the Curzon and could catch it in UGC. Anyway, ulitmately, my point is that truely great films are not getting the marketting and essentially funding it deserve but then again, as my post beforehand states, they'll eventually get the legendary status afterwards.

Tell me about it.

Living in and around London, it's pretty easy for me to pop to The Curzon to watch indie movies, but mates of mine living in concrete new town hell are stuck with "Enormo-Plex Movie Village" that show the biggies on 3 screens a time.

Shame really that lesser, ultimately better movies rarely get the exposure that they need.

Can I be dead (or pointlessly - I'll let you choose) smug and say I have, twice :)

There's a very good independent cinema connected with my University and it tends to go for the "low key" films like Memento, as well as re-runs of classics. Sad thing is that if it wasn't for the University funding there is no way the place would be running.

Bit sad really. Don't get me wrong, the chains have their place showing the big films as they have the facilities to suit i.e. big screen, quality sound, enough seats (!) and good non-film stuff, toilets, food places etc. However, if ti wasn't for the good old indi. who the hell else would show Rear Window on a wet Wednesday evening? That's where the independints come into their own, just a pitty they don't get more support from the public.

Usual Suspects is brilliant. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Reservoir Dogs is the best film I've ever seen though.

And I finally saw L.A. Takedown last night!

I'm sorry to tell you, but I did actually see this film at the cinema. I posted a topic on it a while back and why nobody had seen it when it was such a class film. It's definitely on my DVD list when, it's released.
